Season Ticket Deadline

The only place you are allowed to sell your tickets is through the season ticket exchange offered by the Pats - you can find this on their website.

Sorry you could not afford to attend anymore, I do realize you are a big fan. We are talking entertainment here though - not life, death or anything closely associated with ones quality of life. I do not blame any business for trying to maximize their revenues and profit. That is usually why most people go into business - unless it is a non profit venture, which the NFL certainly is not. If they happen to find they went to far or if things change down there, they can easily put through a correction. I doubt they will ever need to do that as long as the NFL does not blow itself up with player / owner issues.

I for one am looking forward to all that the new Patriot Place has to offer. I think a Patriots Hall of Fame will be awesome. I think the CBS one of a kind TV themed restaurant may be outstanding. I think the night clubs and other restaurants there will bring some much needed nightlife to a rather boring area. I see some pretty cool stores there, unlike any others around and some familiar ones that I look forward to visiting. The new Pro shop promises to be a mecca for all Patriots fans in seek of shirts, hats, novelties, footballs and memorabilia of all kinds.

I tend to take a positive attitude toward Patriot Place with the new and different ideas, concepts etc., but that's just me I guess, one that gets excited over new things and gives them a chance.

Yes sir, I do support Mr. Kraft and no I am not employed by him nor do I stand to make anything off of any of his ventures. Since the day he bought the team he has done nothing but what he said he would do - bring us all a team we could be proud of that will contend for a championship year in and year out. What more could any Patriot fan one ask for??

Do you live close to Foxboro? I can't name a season ticket holder that I know that is happy with a Mall being built.

I live IN Foxboro.

Seriously now, why is everyone so upset? Is it "just" the increase - and I do not mean to be disingenuous by saying it that way.

Why are we upset? Are you for real? My tickets went from $125 to $169 per seat. Where are your seats?

Kraft is/was a fan and I think he does understand some of our needs. That doesn't mean his needs dont out weigh our needs. Jeez guys we are in a capitalistic society here and he has every right to charge what ever his demands allow. I think the Krafts and the NFL are very charitable, more so than most cash cow businesses in this country and I think that is all we can really ask for.

anyone see the price of a box of cereal these days. How can Kellogs get away with that, it is not possibe for a family to bye Kellogs cereal for their kids to eat every mourning, they have to get generic cereal.
Seriously? You're comparing the cost of a box of cereals to the cost of a Patriots ticket? Who's out of touch here?

Tell me, when you eat a bowl of cereal, do you pay an additional $1 to rent the bowl you eat it out of?

Last time I looked a box of cereal didn't cost $169.

I think I addressed my thoughts above:

Do you expect they shoudl hold prices low so that you can afford to keep on going when they have a waiting list of 50,000?? Sorry, I do not know what business you are in, where I work it is all about maximizing profits so that our business can be more productive.

Let's see. Hold prices low. Correct, your statement??? How about we already had the highest ticket prices and they went to WHAT???

How dare you degrade the people that supported this team through thick and thin while you sat at home. Are you even a season ticket holder???

So, $600 to go to a football game is reasonable??? Are you out of your MIND???

Be quiet. Very quiet. You do not have a clue.

Don't tell me to be quiet and do not even think of telling me who has supported this team through thick and thin.

Excuse me, I have been a season ticket holder since, are you ready, consecutively since 1971 and 4 out of 6 years before that. I think I can comment as loud and long as I like as far as being a season ticket holder.

And, you never addressed the point I made, this is not life & death, it is entertainment. Why in the world would the Patriots & the NFL not want to make money and run a profitable business??

Look, I am not thrilled about having to pony up serious dough - I own six freaking seats here and of course it hurts, but I understand it as it is simply the way things are now when it comes to the luxury / entertainment industry. What is it about the business part of the game, or business in general, that you do not understand?? It really is a simple as supply and demand. They sell out every single game and have a waiting list of 50,000. Why not price their very best seats (lowers at $169, like I have) where the have? I want them to continue to raise the kind of revenue needed to keep supplying a first class product that competes for championships and being profitable along the way. What in the world is wrong with that business model?

Take a good look at where the prices will soon be in the new facilities in Dallas & New York, see your future there.

OK, I have been a season ticket holder since the mid-70's as well. So, bugger off already.

Open your mind already. No normal family can go to a football game that costs $600. GET IT???

Here is what it gets down to. Only the rich or corporation tickets go to a game. If that is OK with you fine. To me, it flat out stinks. And most of the other teams do not face this issue. Greed. Pure and simple. And yes, I CAN afford to renew my tickets. That is NOT the point.

Call a spade a spade already.

Football only a few years ago was the last sport for the fans. That is soon going away. OK, so be it. I will move on.

It stinks for the youth of our country. More than stinks.

Sitting in front of a TV. Wow. Hey son, come watch a game on TV. Eat some popcorn.

Get real bud.

You and fgssand are both right, you both make good points to varying degrees. But what I don't agree with is this attitude of "quitting" in bitterness over the price increase. I've had season tickets since 1994 and see my "hobby" going up in cost by around $600. OK, that's $600 I'll have to figure out another way to compensate for over the course of a year. I'm not going to throw my tickets away in a snit over it. For those with multiple seats feeling the pinch, there are creative options to consider, such as sharing your seats with others. Also, remember that if you filed your taxes this year, you're getting a $600 check from Uncle Sam's economic stimulus package. That should ease some of the pain.

I used to love all sports. Baseball, basketball, and football.

Baseball, strike, another strike, greed. Millions, multi-millions to play a game you love. It went crazy. I stopped watching baseball in the '80's -- have not even watched a World Series since then. Totally and completely turned off.

Basketball, Jordan was my hero. And the Celtics with Bird and company a pure joy to watch. Now millions, multi-millions to play a game you love. I have not watched a basketball game since Jordan retired.

I always had football. It had not yet been destroyed. Isn't 10 million enough to play a game you love?? Guess not. I saw this coming in particular last year. Multi-millions (like 80 million) to play a game you love. And owners sucking the fans to the bone because it was the last great game. And they could. And big college teams are no better.

Our world has become a very sad place. Baseball, basketball and now football are no longer a game. It is a business. Winning is everything to get the extra dollar. I used to just love the game, win or lose.

Oh well, I think I will take my dogs for a walk on the beach. Doesn't cost me a dime. And it sure is a lot more fun.

No one can argue with getting turned off by the greed. I take solace in the fact that NFL player contracts are not guaranteed and all teams must abide by the salary cap, unlike baseball, which was positively ruined by going the opposite route on both counts.

Your attitude sucks pats1yes...your the one that questioned if I was even a season ticket holder at all and when you meet up with one of the few people in here that exceeds your 30 years, now you tell me to "bugger off"??

Last time I checked, the tickets cost $169 per game - where is this $600 coming from??

If your not happy with the current price, then don't renew or sell them back to the club and stay home.

Since you state you can afford to go, then you are fortunate to have not been forced to give up your seats as Gainzo & others have mentioned. I really do feel bad for those folks, but , will not blame ownership or call them greedy for running their business and this franchise first class all the way. Would you prefer to see a Bruins type of operation here where the product has suffered due to cheap ownership that refuses to pay the reality of what it takes to build a winner? Show me a more successful team in the NFL right now please??

I do not feel they have they have crossed that line into "greed". If the team were to raise prices and then cut corners in running the team and cut corners with the fan game day experience, that would be different. They could go cheap and it would show via cheap player salaries, bonuses, coaches pay or not invest in scouting via their extensive and costly draft organization (many teams spend a fraction of what NE does in this area) or as I said the game day fan experience were to go downhill and really suck. This, to me would be "greedy". No, I am not thrilled to have to come up with $2,640 more (6 seats x $44 per game x 10 games), but, please tell me if any other luxury / entertainment function that comes close to what going to a Pats game delivers?

As long as they are committed to bringing us a first class franchise that competes for championships year in and year out - I do not feel screwed and it sure beats the 35 years or so prior to the Kraft's ownership.

For now. Me, I'm somewhat concerned about when this contract expires but I'll enjoy the 2008 season for what it is.

Enjoy your 'economic stimulus' that my daughter and I paid for.

Three seats, parking, etc. You do the math.

This is one subject where we will agree to disagree. You can maintain your position and I certainly have not changed mine.

There is one thing I will agree with you on. Football is a business, not a game. Some of us remember when it was a game and enjoyed it a lot more, even when we lost. I'm one of those people. And if it OK with you that the average fan can no longer go, fine. It is the way of the world, I don't have to like it.

And you are aware that we already had the highest priced tickets in the NFL before the increase. An additional 35% increase considering the revenue taken in by Kraft last year certainly falls into the greed category. You can put sugar on it, but it still stinks. And I am, and will continue to be a Pats fan. Win or lose. Kraft falls into another category for me, one that is obvious from my comments.

Let's just agree to disagree. I think there are people on both sides of this fence. The fact that this new "fence" exists (and particularly for long time season ticket holders who supported the team before the success) says more than I could ever say.

Enjoy your 'economic stimulus' that my daughter and I paid for.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Everyone who files a 2007 tax return will get a $600 check from the feds this year. It's got nothing to do with you and your daughter.

The game was always a business...guys like you and me have always made the choice to ignore it as we continue to enjoy the game we love so much.

I think you are going to see huge increases throughout the NFL for tickets (especially as new stadiums come online). Hopefully, ours wont be as steep having already been hit.

This one hurts a little more because it really hits our own pocket pretty hard. Still though, in order to keep this game as the great escape from life's problems that it means to many, the ugly dark side of the game must be overlooked.

That means ignoring the business side of the game as much as possible, aggravating labor problems, drug problems of all kinds since the 60's, player lifetime injury & disability issues, or whatever else is ugly & unpleasant but still exists nevertheless.

I do not like paying more for my seats at all and as I have said I do feel bad for those priced out. But, I do understand it and I do not blame Kraft or feel screwed by him.

I think that is really our only major conflict - you feel betrayed or used by him and that he is price gouging and I don't feel that way at all. I think he is simply charging what they feel is fair market value. You can be sure if it doesn't work out for them, they will lower prices as fast as they increased. I think the the sellouts will continue as long as they provide such great performances and such a terrific product.

What you say is not so. A topic for another forum.
