Chad Johnson is gone from Cincinnati??? When did this happen???

Looks like the video is now offline...

Well let me give you the gist of it then.

It was Mort, Turico, Kiper and a couple other of their football experts talking about what should the Bengals do now that Chad Johnson is gone.

They didnt say how or why but said CHAD JOHNSON WR is now gone and how good it was for the organization.

It was about a 4 minutes video too.

Google news has nothing about it. They are usually the first place I check.

That's very interesting. Though if it's from ESPN it probably means the Bengals re-signed him to a long term deal. :D

Yeah, didn't Eli need a month off because he seperated his shoulder? Funny, I remember him playing all 16 games during the season.

I can't remember what other horsecrap they said that turned out to be the exact opposite off the top of my head. Anyone?

I would bet that this happens quite often, a network with alot of time and very little substance needs to use these "reporters"
so they tape things in preperation of events that seem imminent, for example that whole ESPN Who is "Now" was taped in about
two days with each player having a designated tape.

That video probably didn't even delve into who or for what they got rid of Chad Johnson

They just accidently linked in a tape that they have on file.

It was such an awkward video because it was clear as day that he was cut or traded.

I believe you. It was probably like Tjones said...they already have a tape of analysts ready to go if he gets traded or cut. Kind of like how the AP has obits of celebrities already written.

That looked like one of those backwards mock drafts they were doing, where they were looking at one team per day, starting at the back of the first round and working their way to the front.

But they obviously don't tape them one per day. They tape probably all of them in one day or two. In this case, they obviously taped a second Bengals one, taking into account the possibility of him being traded (note they didn't mention what they received in return or what team had him).

Some idiot just put the wrong one up on the website.

You're right except for that part. I think here they were taping a draft preview for each team well in advance of the draft and taped two for Cincy to take into account the possibility of the trade. Needing to use their reporters is not a factor.

It was surely just a huge mistake - "oops, I hit code 2, not code 3 on line 5 in the prompt 7 screen" - that got somebody fired - that made this became momentarily public.

All big media (newspapers, TV, etc.) have certain stories already "in the can" in case they ever happen. For example, have you ever wondered how every network has such a detailed piece of work describing the life of a person that just passed away five minutes ago? It's because they took their time to produce it in advance and have it ready to go at a moment's notice once it actually happens; it's not due to them having inside information about the person's imminent death.

In this case, e-spin produced something on (a possible trade of) Chad Johnson, but a goof allowed it to be seen by the public. It happens, just like the Chris Berman rant that's on YouTube. Not to pick on e-spin (though it's so much fun), every major media outlet does the same pre-packaged type of story; if they don't they are hours behind on breaking the story (which loses ratings, which loses revenue, which costs somebody their job.)

Maybe they meant Chris Henry is gone from Cincinnati ?
