I almost posted this earlier, when I noticed it on Rotoworld.

Groves basically said that he's a Steelers fan, then talked about what it would be like to be a part of that team, and it's history.

A lot of guys had favorite teams growing up, but it's a business, and they'll "go to work" for whatever team drafts them.

I've heard that Tomlin really likes him, but I don't see how the Steelers really need him. I believe they already have the following OLB's:
James Harrison
LaMarr Woodley
Lawrence Timmons
Arnold Harrison (I think).

Exactly. What's more...try asking Mr. Groves if he'd rather be picked top 10 or last until 23 for his beloved Steelers. ;)

I already know his answer to that one. At the Combine Groves said he's praying to get selected as high as possible. Every player has similar feelings, especially when they're family men.

I personally know for a fact that is the Steelers take a LB in the first two rounds then you will hear *****ing like never before from Steeler fans. They want offensive players such as guards tackles and WR's and RB's.

Tom Brady was a 49er's fan... BFD.

I'm sure that every college player has a favorite team that they followed.

Not a big factor.

I checked out that Fannation.com article/post, and Steelers fans were *****ing in the comment section. They want O-linemen, and don't at all like the idea of drafting another LB early. I don't blame them really, as they have Harrison, Woodley, and Timmons.

Definitely not a plus for me. I hate the Steelers... alot. I hate their fans even more.

Groves still came to New England for a visit, Steeler fan or not.

I have no problem taking Groves at #7, if we can not trade down.

I'm with you...I'd love to trade down to take him, but if it doesn't make sense, from everything I've seen and read, I prefer him to Gholston in most ways, but I'd rather not pay him #7 money as it seems he'd be available later in the 1st.

Yup, I'd be content with taking Groves in the 10-15 range. Like one poster mentioned, Brady was a 9ers fan, but he turned out ok. :) I don't think Groves will have a problem joining a franchise that recently won 3 SBs and came up a game short of the perfect season in 2007.
