Simple question, really, but hard to predict. Note I'm not even asking you to name a player, just the position. :)

BTW--I left out WR because if Belioli draft a WR in the first, I will probably lose my will to live. :) / :bricks:

Well, since we just signed Hobson, it would be logical to say that we're going with CB (now our biggest need defensively).

But that still begs the question--why not just pay Asante the $$$ then?

I'm not a Pats insider, but probably because he wanted BIG money and this is a deep class for defensive backs. He was really good, but he isn't exactly irreplaceable. Now, if we somehow sign Lito Shepard (which I will go on record as saying that's NOT a good idea) than that question becomes more prominent. Personally, I could see us going with Jenkins or Talib in the draft.

as more days passes, it seems clearer we will be getting an OL, but i still have hope for long then gholston

After Hobson signing I think the biggest need is a young pass rushing OLB and there are plenty available. Get a CB with the second pick at 63.

I agree. Whether that's Gholston or Groves or whoever, that's still the biggest need. Signing Hobson or Bryant to one year contracts will have absolutely no effect on the draft.

Agreed, although I can't say I am enamored with a project LB at 7, freak or not.

If we stay at 7 or the first 1/2 of round 1 with a trade down, I see OL as the best value. There some to be some very solid OL available in top 15 (aside from Jake Long, you have Clady, Otah, Williams, Albert...)

If they go LB, I see a trade down / trade up (early 2nd) approach.

Drafting for need is not ideal, and although LB/CB seem to be weakest of positions, they are not that bad. BPA is the way to go, unless it is QB.
