That ain't Chad jackson.

You gotsa have done something upon which to be considered improved upon thereof.

Yeah I'm just trying to be as optimistic as I can be.
I was elated when we traded up and drafted him I was torn between Jennings, Jackson and I think Marshall was in that draft.
Jackson has all the physical attributes you could ask for.
Now he just needs half of Welkers heart, and the durability of a Randy Moss and we have a winner!

Okay guys, I havent' posted anything yet just because I dind't want my first post to be about something like this but all you guys do is continually beat on this kid. We all saw this kid's potential in the first year and than he blew out his ACL in the AFCG, i fail to see how this makes the kid injury prone. Than if we're looking at the current wide recievers on our roster, RM, Wes, Jabar, and than Aiken, well that mkaes Chad Jackson at worst our fourth receiver right now and I will go on record and say that by the end of the season he will be starting with Moss and Wes will be our slot guy with Chad and Randy on the outside. If you want to talk about injury prone players, let's look no further than Benjamin Watson who is always injured. Chad gets a bad rap on here because most of you posters expect every Pioli and Belichick draftpick should be counted on to immiedately start and sometimes that's just not fair to the player. Remember when he was drafted, he was the youngest player in th leaque and even now he's only 22. By the end of this year, you'll all be saying how great chad jackson is and that you never doubted him. But nearly all of you do, just remember that.

Preach Preach I hope your right!
I don't want this to be another PK Sam!
He is incredibly young people forget about that with Moss mentoring him and he has to be itching to play, we should see at worst a Javon Walker clone at best a young Randy Moss!
C Jack and Moss?
Alright!
If i'm wrong i will eat these words and if he is traded or cut, or ends up the next chris henry on Americas most wanted I will never get hyped for a rookie receiver ever again!

He's injury prone because he is always injured.

I hope you are Chad Jackson. In that case, you aren't injury prone (im saying this to boost your confidence and kiss your butt) and i hope you have a great season. And i also like your nick name you've made for yourself.

Just think - he's spent 12 months with Randy Moss and Wes Welker. The kid should have learned a lot.

Excuse me, but you are out of line. This is a Pats bashing thread. Voices of reason should post their claptrap elsewhere.

Maybe people look at it differently.

When an NFL player is always injured, regardless of the number of injuries, i consider that to be "injury prone".

He's always injured. He's never healthy. Whether it's 2 major injuries or 17 minor ones, it's irritating and he's injured and not playing.

Unfortunately for you, Keegs, this just isn't FACT.

He was recovering from a Torn ACL that occured late January 2007. That is a 12-18 month process. So for anyone to have expected him to contribute during 2008, that is just not realistic. Catastrophic injuries are just not the fault of the player. There is very little you can do, excercise wise, to prevent your ACL from being torn.

So, to say he is "always injured' is just downright BS.

How can it be another PK Sam? Sam was a 5th round pick who has attitude issues that the Pats thought they could fix. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

That being said, CJack needs to have a good training camp and push Gaffney and Washington for playing time. Its going to be hard to replace Gafney as the #2 right out of the box, but if anyone has the athletic talent to do so, its CJack. Whether or not he does, is an entirely different story.

it isn't downright B.S. to say that.

Is he usually healthy? no he isn't.

He's always injured. Because he's injured.

He was very durable in college, then sustained a hamstring injury in '06, and later suffered the ACL injury during the playoff loss to the Colts. That's two injuries, both coming during the same season/offseason. The fact that his second injury was severe and takes time to heal, doesn't mean he's "always injured". In fact, he came back early and tried to give it a go in 2007, but the Patriots wanted to be cautions with him, so they limited his playing time. It didn't seem like he got injured again during the 2007 season, right?

I'm taking a wait and see attitude with Chad, hopefully he'll starting living up to the potential many of us noticed in '06.

I guess i just feel different than you and DABruinz

but he's not healthy.

He's injured. He's been injured for the majority of the time he's been on this team. I don't care how severe the injury is, or when he's rehabbing the injuries.

When he's injured, he's injured. And that's all the time

Who is Chad Jackson .... ?
.... the reason Jabar Gaffney was only offered a one-year contract.

I agree that last year was basically a red shirt years. There were several reports before the season that the Pats had no intention of playing Jackson this past season unless there was a rash of injuries. The Pats felt it was in the best interest of Jackson's future with the team to sit out the year and learn the system. So now he can come in with a full camp under his belt (something he has never had) and hit the ground running.

I think it is far too early to write off Jackson, but it is clearly a make or break year for him. He doesn't have to be a 1,200 yard receiver, but he does have to make an impact. I expect him to take over the return duties from Hobbs and fight Gaffney out for the #3 WR spot.

him, LoMo and Meriweather i expect at least two of them to have monster season in 08/9 i hope its all 3, but im expecting 2

According to you Keegs, if someone caught a cold, got healthy, and than a week later caught the flu that person would be sick-prone. Well thats the point, is that injuries happen and I dont agree when people say someone is "injury prone"...How is it Chad Jacksons fault that he tore his ACL? Should he have run slower? cut faster? shortened his steps? No, it's called FOOTBALL and injuries happen in FOOTBALL big guy...thats why it's called a contact sport....I dont think anyone ever expected Chad to play last year when we prolly had the greatest collection of wide reciever depth in Patriot History. We always have too high of expections for rookies and second year players around here. Bill can't make every rookie into a pro bowler his first year in the league but anything less than that and we're all pissed off. Wide recievers take time to develop and I personally have seen nothing to indicate that Chad can't be an elite wideout in this league. He has elite size, strength and speed. He can go up and catch the ball and he will be this teams second best reciever this year. It's also comical that people here see Jackson battling for playing time with Kelly Washington....Washington and Aiken are both signed for the same spot, it'll go to the better special teams player. Jackson is not going to be cut for either player. You guys just wait and see.. Jackson is going to make some of you look like complete idiots.:rocker:

its not Chads fault the Pats didnt play him he wanted to play and worked his butt off to be ready for the opener which he was but they just didnt let him play. He'll be the #2 this year next to Moss and will be better than Stallworth.

Are you him, his wife, girlfriend, or mother?

I sure hope he bounces back from his injury and have a break out season. Sucks for player to be injured most of the times and not have chance to develop. I'm hoping he follows the pattern of Issac Bruce(yea I know. Its wishful thinking). Bruce in his early years was oft injured but later had break out year and kept that pace ever since. We can all hope.

Just think - he's spent 12 months with Randy Moss and Wes Welker. The kid should have learned a lot.

Well, I think this is the main point here.....This kid has had TONS of time to learn under great receivers.....Or at the least, he had all last year to STUDY under them......This is his last year on the squad IMHO if he comes up lame again, or just can not get involved. The biggest problem for him is that at BEST he is our #4 WR......Moss #1, Welker 2, (didn't want to call wes #2!).....Gaffney is a solid #3 this year with his experience.......and abilty to step up in clutch situations......Jackson is an unproven question mark that again, in my opinion is in a due or die year and will be competing against Kelley Washington who played balls to the wall on ST last year....and deserves more looks on offense this year.......Will be very interesting this season for Mr. Jackson......As someone said....Lets hope he is not the next PK Sam........
