Eddie Royal is up to #5 for WR's. Roy Schuening has slide to #5 for Guards (Zuttah takes a big jump) Dan Connor slid to #3 for ILB. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this, as Goselin typically gets great info, direct from the sources. It just isn't what we had been hearing from other sources.

I'm pretty leery of Devin Thomas having Ted Ginn Jr disease. Great for kickoffs/returns, but not nearly as good of a receiver. He's only got one solid 1,000 yard season under his belt but Gosselin has him ranked as the #1 receiver in his draft class?? Groves not making Gosselin's top 75 players also smells like BS to me.

Gosselin doesn't pretend to scout players himself. He just polls actual NFL scouts and posts their consensus. Gosselin even boasts that he never watches these guys play a down. His list just gives a sense of what most NFL evaluators seem to be thinking.

He doesn't have Avril or Groves on the list at DE, but he's ranking these players strictly by college position, and doesn't have them on the OLB list either. Trust me, Both Avril and Groves are ranked higher than Bryan Kehl, Xavier Adibi, Jordan Dizon, and Phillips Wheeler, at 34 OLB.

It's not his top-75 players. It's his top 5 players at each of 15 positions.

When he does his top- 100 in a few weeks it will be different. You'll definitely see players like Groves. As Seb said, these are ratings at their college positions. IIRC, he didn't have Ware listed two years ago (though he did have Merriman). The same is true w/ McShay. When the draft is pending, and they have a truer sense where these players might land their rankings take a big turn.

Exactly, and those rankings seem based strictly on college positons, not projected pro positions.

Getting to the rankings:

Seems like Jacob Hester's getting the recognition he deserves. I really like that kid, and think he's going to make a good pro. Owen Schmitt's ranked a little lower than I've seen elsewhere, and maybe he'll be available later in the draft?

Brad Cottam's the 3rd ranked TE, with John Carlson the 4th? That's kind of a surprising to me. Cottom's a big kid with potential as a receiver, and some decent (not great) blocking ability, but he's had a number of significant injuries (5 surgeries), and hasn't really produced much at all as a receiver.

He's got Kenny Phillips as the top ranked Safety, but it would be nice to see him rank the top 5 SS, and the top 5 FS, instead of bunching them together.

Been following Gosselin's work for years...and he remains one of my few favorites. That said, don't be too concerned with these rankings, as his real accuracy lies in his top 100.

His three, separate, round one mocks leading up to draft day also make for worthy discussion, and will be posted here as they're released.
