The NFL released this year's preseason schedule today.

Here is how it looks for the Patriots, with the team's Week 2 matchup the lone game on national television (NFL Network):

Week 1 (August 7-11)
Ravens at Patriots (date, time TBA)

Week 2 (August 14-18)
Patriots at Buccaneers (Aug. 17, NFL Network, 8 p.m.)

Week 3 (Aug. 21-25)
Eagles at Patriots (date, time TBA)

Week 4 (Aug. 28-29)
Patriots at Giants (date, time, TBA)

Seems like we play the Bucs, Eagles and Giants every year. I was hoping we'd play the Giants in Week 3 when we can actually play some of our good players. As it turns out, this will likely be another Cassell-Lorenzen showdown.

Pats/Giants is the traditional preseason Week 4 matchup. Short travel for both teams. Just imagine the Pats' reception at the Meadowlands for that game.

Bill and Bob should ask Arlen to join us for a ceremonial coin toss and maybe after the game Bill could escort him on a tour of our video facilities and show him how the Belistrator works by breaking down some film from 39, so he will finally grasp why his Iggles lost...

Again, Spector would point shouting, "That's a camera!"

Again, Bill would answer, "No Specs, that's our quarterback."

I was hoping not to play the Giants this year. As I remember from the Pats Panther pre-season game a few years ago there is just to much left over emotions.

I still have a lot of leftover emotions about that game. The Giants are the last team that I want to see.

Pretty sure that Week 4 game will be nationally televised. In fact you can bank it now, and every network will be begging for the rights - it don't matter who plays it's going to be a spectacle.
