It is possible he is not totaly healthy before some get on their high horses and start telling him to lead by example.

If I were Tom I'd be telling you were to go to be honest. These are voluntary workouts. Brady is the ultimate proffesional and when it's time to work, he'll be there.

This is the type of thread that I find embarrassing in being a Pats fan at times! Just a stupid non topic! Tom has missed sessions in the past as have all players, but he and the ones that get 'perfect' attendance, make up those sessions on off workout days, in fact, most of them, including Brady go beyond the required amount of days.

The program 'started' last week, it was not mandatory. As James said, the workouts can and are made up through the entire off season.

I don't care who he is or what kind of awards he received in the past. You get your butt in the gym and you lead by example. He is getting paid millions people. Its not too hard.

I don't usually get involved in celebrity soap operas and its really not going to affect me in anyway but I feel like he should be spending some time with his son during the off season as opposed to jetting off to Europe with his super model girl friend who he probably won't marry anyway, basically what I'm saying is I think he needs to get some priorities straight. But once again I don't really care either way as long as he kicks azz on the field

The workouts are usually never mandatory but the guy who wrote the article is a critic saying Tom usually NEVER misses EARLY offseason workouts but he is this year - Big deal IMO

I agree with Pat64 on this one, as this team's leader Brady blowing off workouts this is a big deal for the upcoming season. This is a team that ran out of gas right when it mattered most, how much better are they going to be this year after fewer workouts?

Wow, some 'fans' really turned on tommy pretty quick here.

So he missed a workout. Do you think he's not working out at the hotel he's staying at? He's doing exactly what the trainers tell him to do, which might include, taking it easy while recovering from injuries. Besides, the strain from last season must be incredible. Let the guy have some time off.

Maybe we should let the whole team skip the workouts. I'm sure that would lead to a great season. Brady is a great QB, but you still need to be with the team working out, this is when teamwork is started. Just because he is a great QB does not but him above the rest of the team. I'm sure the rest of the team would still like to vacationing somewhere but they are putting in the time to make themselves better.So he better not recieve the perfect attendance award, you do not make the time up, that would set a bad example for the rest of the team. As no one is above the team not even the Great Tom Brady.

and just how do you know the trainers didnt tell him to take it easy, no workouts? he was injured, and maybe needs time. bottom line, your judging him without knowing the facts, because, be honest, you don't work for the pats. great speech about teamwork though

That's cool that you came back from Iraq any everything. I respect what you're doing over there and I respect the troops. But maybe we can put memos out to all branches of the military and let them know to stop rubbing the fact that they were in the military in our faces. Everyone I've ever met that got out of Iraq lets me know within the first ten minutes of meeting them that they were in the military. Well whoopdee doo! You and thousands of others. I actually respect the people that don't have to immediately let you know that to feel like they're badasses. Makes them seem even more bad ass to me.

And we applaud players like Tom Brady of the Patriots, who arguably is the most underpaid player in NFL history — and who seems to be okay with that, because he wants to help the team maintain a high level of overall performance by allowing it to afford plenty of other good players.

The question in the end is how much is enough? Romo could have gotten a lot more, but he was happy with what he received. Brady could fairly demand $50 million in guaranteed money from the Patriots, but he wants to win football games more than he wants to further pad his bank account.
