I guess the Jets are not so sure Clemens is THE MAN right now and Chad will once again have a shot to compete for the job.

I would not be surprised to see the Jets try and get Matt Ryan on board if he is still around at #6 since these two QBs are borderline starters anymore and neither is much better than the other.

Poor Chad. I am sure he wants to get the heck out of NY. Despite the fact that I hate the Jets, I kind of like ol' Noodlearm.

You know I think he gets a bad rap for having a 'noodle arm' but when he plays the Pats in the recent past,I have seen some nice decent long passes hit thier mark so maybe 'noodle arm' is a bit exaggerated

I think he's an accurate passer, but he seems to have to use a whole body wind-up to get it downfield. If you watch Brady, he quickly sets his feet and throws, using his arm and upper body. Chad Pennington turns sideways and kind of hops into the throw, using his legs more, I think. I am not a football technician, so I can't describe it, but Pennington has a very distictive way of throwing, particularly long distance. I think this is where the "noodle-arm" distinction comes from.

I think it's great that none of our division rivals has done anything to improve their QB situation. Another 6-0 in the division would be sweet to me!

Pennington would look good in a Pats uniform...

...as Brady's back-up.

I don't see how this is breaking news. The jets went out and spent a lot of money on their team and are in a WIN now MODE.. They aren't going to hand the reigns over to Clemens..

And how many times have we seen an owner back the gm and coach.. ONLY To see at the end of the season, he changes his mind.. Look at Baltimore..

How is keeping Pennington in the mix putting them in a "win now" mode? He is a 32 (soon to be 33) year old often injured "quarterback" who is well known for not being able to throw the ball any farther than a 12 year old girl. His 13,768 career passing yards (in just EIGHT seasons!) are certainly a highlight of his ability to throw the ball.

Face it, his accuracy doesn't matter anymore because he can't put the ball in a tight spot.

Pennington single-handedly has cost the Jets games. The only way I see them making the playoffs is if they draft McFadden and are able to make that offensive line gel in front of him. Neither Penny or Clemens is championship-caliber material.

=====================================

That is almost a best case scenario.

Seems to me if the Jets draft McFadden and then start Chad, the opposing team will just continue to stack the box and shut down the short pass and the running game at the same time.

Yeah...And Eli Manning was Championship material last year before the season started, right?

Look no farther than the Meadowlands in 2005-06. Woody was insisting then that Herm was still the Man and Chad was still their boy... Next thing you know, Herm was in KC, Eric gets hired, the guy who hired him is replaced by Tannenbaum in a palace coup, Clemens gets drafted and Noodle is strong armed into taking a massive pay cut...

That's part of what BB warned the little Mangenius he'd be getting into. If they have another sub .500 season all those assurances will go right out the window. With Noodle and Clemens reprising their roles as the oft injured starter and the starter of the future (there's an old saying that if you have more than one starter on the roster you don't in fact have a starting QB on your roster...) the JETS remain positioned to make $63M spent on guarantees to vetran FA look like yet another piss poor JETS investment, and if that's the case someone will have to take the fall. My money is on Tannenbaum doing whatever it takes to insure it ain't him or his new additions or Woody who takes the fall. When an owner gets talked into spending a boatload of money by his GM, the first in line when the finger pointing starts are the coach and the QB('s).

If they could put Chad Pennington's mind in Brad Smith's body they'd have quite the quarterback.

Wrist Shatteredton coming back?

That Hurtsington tossing ducks for the Rats?

Tattered Shoulderton hurling mallards for 16 games?

Fine Chinaton staying healthy for a full season??

....grabs a 55 gallon drum of popcorn...sits back waiting for comedy to ensue....

I really hope you get it.

I had a dream last night that the Jets drafted Darren McFadden. All the Pats fans were excited because Vernon Gholston went to the Pats with the next pick.
