You know, every sports besides football has a best of series to determine it's champion. Why not football? Imagine a best of 3 series for the Super Bowl. There would be no anomilies (ahem, this years Giants), there would be more revenue, more games (I think Goodell is trying to add one more game to the schedule), hell, they could even move the games around. Game 1 would be in Zona, Game 2 in Miami, deciding game in NO if it comes to it.

I am sure there are about a million things wrong with my plan, but it does have some benefits...for example, if it was adopted last year, I wouldn't have seen the "2007 World Champions" banner hanging outside Giants Stadium last night.

i'll apologize to you in advance for how everyone is going to treat you.......

well, in that case, we need to give back our first super bowl title because we do not beat the rams in a best of 3 series. We cant have everything our way. We lost the super bowl, lets get over it and move on.

let play a best of ??? series and as soon as we are winning, lets quit and crown ourselve champions.

100% correct...now the question:

Would you trade winning SB 36 for SB 42, if you could???

very good question....i prob would not b/c the 3 in 4 aspect is not there....but we woudl have the 19-0 aspect...

anywayz, if all goes to plan and we win the SB this year, then i dont care about last....if we lose again....my answer would lean more towards yes

Well, it's better and more insightful than the thing I read on SI Truth and Rumors about Wes Welker eating ice cream every day since the Super Bowl. :D

..........wow, I think you should get over the SB loss and just admit the Giants were the better team that day.

Then every single previous Super Bowl would become irrelevant due to playing in the now obsolete "1 game Super Bowl".

Giants were the better team that day.

I think I have finally got over it!!!

I did feel like s**t as time expired, but I did get a hell of alot of grief from the rest of the team I play football for!!!

and I think you should go back to your own gay a** message board. I forget, how did your team finish again?

One has nothing to do with the other, troll. I was reading about the Red Sox World Series from last year when I thought of it. Last year's SB loss was a side thing.

Why would YOU come to a Patriots board when you're a Jets fan? We here like talking about how our team is going to get to the Super Bowl and who they should be playing in the playoffs. Your kind should be chit chatting about IF your team will make the playoffs and who the next coach will be after the "genius" gets fired.

I absolutely would, for the 19-0, plus the fact that I witnessed the impossible happen in Phoenix firsthand. :bricks:

I don't think so. Teams would be cheap shotting 'star' players in hopes of them not being able to play the next game in the best of ? series.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that.

I just remember Goodell saying something about a 17 game scehdule (in 20 years everyone will argue if going 17-0 by whoever gets close will be the same as the Pats going 16-0 or the Fins going 14-0 in the regular season). If they would do a best of 3 SB, it may be a win-win. More games, more ad revenue, more ratings...

I was there for both and I dont think that should have anything to do with it.

I don't really like the question. They each had their own special things to it, sure 19-0 would be awsome but that 01 team was really special. the question is like asking who your favorite child is (or would you trade one for the other).

so FGS who is your favorite child?

Your the one who called the Giants win an anomaly, I keep it real. For one im far from a troll, I have had some pretty engaging conversation with many other board members on the board n you could just check my post history. Also your "kind" are all over jets boards as well so it goes both ways. Moving on, The #1 reason why you could never play a best of 3 SB is blatantly obvious. This is football. People would die playing a best of 3 series. Also factor in you would probably have to do the same for the divisional round, wildcard and conference championships. How would you schedule layoff between games? How would you deal with teams who get a first round bye? What would be the effect on contracts on guys who would probablky have racked up extra seasons of playing time on just going to the playoffs every year.

With a win against the Chiefs, how did yours finish?:D

The beginning of your post is horsecrap, so yes, moving on.

I know the football argument, but if it was spread out for 3 consecutive Sunday's whats the problem? Of course, you're thing about the other playoff rounds is true, and I hadn't thought of that, unless they increased the football season to go to April. Then they would get into a really short preseason...yeah. My idea sucks.

It's not just from this past Super Bowl. I just want a longer football season. I am so freaking BORED right now. I would have gladly watched Super Bowl Game 2: Steelers at Seahawks or Colts at Bears from the past few years.

I like the idea of a series, because as LT says, "We would beat the Pats 9 out of 10 times."

Whoaaaa!! Ba dump ching!!!!

Yeah, I already figured out the problem with my own idea. But you see what I am saying, right? Like, if the Sixers make it to the NBA Championship this year against the Lakers and win the first game, we are all pretty sure the Lakers will take the series eventually. But just like with the Pats beating the Chargers last year...it probably shouldn't have happened and the wrong team went to the AFCCG against the Colts.
