that we re-sign Kyle Brady for next year, on a reduced terms one year deal? The depth of TE's in the draft is shocking this year, and he offers familiarity to the Pats system. It would also allow the Pats to use their first four draft picks wisely.

Seems like we Draft a TE every year, I'm sure this year will be no exception.

Re: Whats the betting...

maybe...or at least a UDFA...thinking they MAY go that route as pickings are slim...

Re: Whats the betting...

I don't think Kyle was as goos a blocker as advertised last year. (injuries may be to blame). I bet we move on Watson and Thomas are good starts though they each have their own injury concerns. We will prolly draft one somewhere and add some kind of vet.

Re: Whats the betting...

I see us drafting a TE on the Sunday!!!

Round 4 at earliest I reckon!

Re: Whats the betting...

The Pats are known to cut older players and not bringing them back because they can use that roster spot on a new player with potential. That's what they should really do.

Which player have they spotted with potential then?

Thats the question:

A decent replacement for Brady can be found in Brad Kottam, a 6'8", 270 pound TE from Tennessee. He runs in the 4.8 range and is a good effort blocker.

a draft pick. I'm thinking 3rd round. Watson and Thomas only have 2 years left so that will give this 3rd rounder room to develop.

Besides from having good size, his strength is really in the passing game. He is suspect as a blocker. If we're going to draft Kyle Brady's replacement that person's strength better be in blocking. I'm looking at Martellus Bennett or Craig Stevens and kellen davis in later rounds.

Problem is that we need someone ready to go now. I dont see any of those two being able to step up at once and be ready for week 1.
