DRC is WAY over-rated and not nearly as good as people think.

I don't get this love affair people have with Curtis Lofton. He's not that great of an ILB. His agility was over-rated by many and he proved that with his mediocre performance at the combine and pro day. Its pretty sad when Offensive linemen show better change of direction agility than he does. On top of this, You've got the Pats wasting a 3rd round choice to trade up for him? WOW.

Gooden is friggen INJURY PRONE. He's not had a single season where he's been injury free except his freshmen year. Not to mention he's not that great of a prospect for the 3-4 because he isn't that smart. He survives almost purely on his instincts.

Dexter Jackson's not lasting until the 5th round.

You've got Slaton also sliding into the 5th round? WOW. Umm.. oh, yeah.. Who is slaton replacing to make the roster since the Pats aren't likely to carry 4 RBs.

Why do you want Erik Ainge? Why do you believe the Pats should WASTE a draft pick on a QB when they already have 2 in development behind Brady? One of which showed enough promise that Belichick chose to keep him over Vinny T.

I tend to look at Dabruinz posts and disagree before I'm even finished
But this time.. he's 100% right.. DRC was nothing special prior to the senior bowl and combine. He had 2 int's last year.. Now people will say he avg around 3 ypc on his side of the field.. Well lets remember, he is playing weaker opponents week in and week out. I've read multiple times in different places that this guy was constantly beaten by guys that will never see the light of day in the NFL..

Lofton is classic guy that won't test well, won't whoa you with his agility or athletism, but will be one of those guys that will just make plays all over the field. People said the same crap about Lofa Tatupu, how did that turn out ?

"Not that smart", ok, that's funny, neither is Keith Rivers and he's a top 10 lock.

ILB - goff
CB - cason and another late 3rd rounder
plus bobby carpenter, prob an ILB in our system

The one thing every team in front of us except the Jets have in common...they ALL need help on the OL. OL guys are just about the safest picks, and to get the best OL in the draft....they arent gonna fall to us. Its very likely 2 OL are taken before 7 even though most arent rated that high. I would like to see us take:

1 OLB HIGH pick
2 CBs
1 TE
1 SS
1 WR
1 OL

We took a new QB last year, we will need 2 RBs next year.

Sorry, I HATE this draft. Lofton and Dunbar are both more 1-gap players and likely wouldn't fit in with the Pats 2-gap system. Completely wrong systems for them. I have the same concerns about Gooden, a 1-gapper in college and not the biggest ILB in the world. But at leats he has SOME size and does have talent so could possibly convert.

Rogers-Cromartie is too finese, I prefer McKelroy. I also prefer a bigger back, if we're to take one, than Slaton.

Sorry, just don't like it.

IMO, the goal of this draft is to lay a whole new foundation of youth for the defensive back 7. That foundation has 3 names: Groves, Cason and Goff. So how do we get there?

Round 1: Swap 1st & 2nd round picks with Carolina. Panthers take Ryan Clady at #7, Patriots take Quentin Groves at #13.

Top of Round 2: Package the Panthers' 2nd rounder with the Pats' late 3rd to move up for Cason.

Bottom of Round 2: Package the high 3rd & 4th to move up for Goff. (Yes, I think that will be necessary to get him.)

So you've blown your whole draft on 3 guys...but they're the 3 guys you need.

Any combination of Groves/Avril, Cason/Talib would be great from my perspective. I know alot of people don't like Talib, and see Avril as a poor man's Groves, but we can't agree on everything, I suppose.

pretty good i like alot of your guys they are the same as mine. The Balt trade would be good it would keep us in the top spot for Cromartie, or we could take a chance and trade down with Chicago and pick up a 2nd, but Cro may be gone then.

Rather have Mayo in the high second than Lofton, Lofton is better suited inside but Mayo is a very smart linebacker with leadership qualities, a little on the small side though. Just think Mayo is gunna be a real good linebacker in the league.

Not a big fan of Chevis Jackson but the more CBs the better.

Gooden is just the type of athletic linebacker we need hes high on my list, there would be roles all over for him on special teams and any linebacker spot.

Rather not draft a QB in the 4th we have never really picked a QB that high we usually take fliers on ones late in the 6th-7th (Brady, Cassel, Guitierrez). Not high of a need to spend a 4th on a QB, we could get a TE, Punter or Oline there.

Jackson is rated #15-ish for WRs in the draft on many sites, but what they dont know is this guy is the #1 slot WR in this draft. Just like Welker he is never high when you talk about WRs but when you talk about slot WRs hes the best in the biz. Jackson would be absurd in our offense just like Welker plus he can return kicks. No way he lasts to the 5th i got him going with the last pick in the 3rd in my mock.
