Just curious with Haggans signing today, who is left for the Pats to make a run at?? Seems pretty slim pickings. Hobson?? Spikes?

Re: Whose left at linebacker???

Well, the 2 guys that were on our team last year are still available. We did go 16-0.....not saying we dont want to improve(I REALLY want Spikes), but the longer we wait the cheaper the players get to sign. I would love to get him before the draft though, drafting an OLB fits our system but not so much a ILB.

Who did he sign with?

Hobson isn't a bad idea imo...

I think Seau will be back...almost a given, but to improve they need some younger ones who can develop and add depth. I don't think anyone is sold on Woods, Alexander stepping up. Colvin, I think will not return even if healthy.

Besides him...Hmmmmm not many out there are there?? Do you think he'll get that offer sheet soon?? OR are the Pats in the Spikes sweepstakes? Options are really declining quick..

Re: Whose left at linebacker???

Ian Gold is still out there as well, although he probably isn't a fit for the 3-4.

Mario Haggan of Buffalo is a good ST-er with the size to play in the Pats system. Of course, he has just been a ST-er.

i think they are going to stay pat until after the draft, hopefully they add some young studs, there is always cuts after the draft, so maybe they can add a veteran then

they better draft atleast one stud and one average LB in the draft who actually stick around and make the team, the LB position has big holes to fill.

Id rather take a shot on Spikes more then Wilson but Id be happy if we took a look at either player. Id take Wilson over Seward anytime though...

Re: Whose left at linebacker???

Is there any shot Spikes comes to NE?

I was wondering that too. What kind of money is he looking for?

I still wonder what the hold up is with seward. All the talk about him got me excited, then it all tanked. Maybe he's going on the shawdow roster.lol. nah, he's too young. :D

I haven't seen too much about Spikes, which surprises me. Seems like the market would be bigger but I believe his injury last year is hurting him.

I believe with Spikes its more a case of him wanting too much money and possibly not understanding that he's older and NOT the player he was a few years ago..the money is a non starter..maybe that will sink when he realizes that teams won't pay him that amount..the latter is a different story..some players don't understand that later they may need to be role players...wanting to be starters when they just can not do it physically..THAT is hard.. NOT an easy transition..THAT I think is a larger hurdle for him...but I think the team is waiting to see when his price goes down.and I do yhink they might have to worry about injuries as well... THAT might be the deal with Seward..there is NO rush to get Carolina an offer sheet..they have 3 weeks plus now..so they may be waiting to see what happens with Spikes..or others. they have their reasons.
IF it was mid-April I might be concerned about it. I do think they will get Seward..If they do, I hope it's not Claridge II as many had hopes for him as well..
