Will our offense be better this season than last?

I think the only problem will remaining as healthy and keeping the turnovers low. Lets just say Stallworth/CJ a wash, our pts went down in the end of the year mostly due to weather(take a look at the stats of Moss playing in the cold!), which means our power back(Morris) is very important.
To the FOOL who thinks McFadden could help this team.....first thing you have to do to get on the field is TO PROTECT BRADY, his frame wont be able to block a cold. That means we tip our hand to a RUN every time he is on the field--which means he wont play. If he does play he takes away from what we have already started, he is built around a different type of offense not ours. I wont even talk about the fumbles...
The schedule is "easier" but we play both the western conferences...which means 4 long trips which might also be cause for a loss or 2.
Back to HEALTH, I think the Neal injury maybe alot worse than reported. We know Hochstein isnt a very viable backup anymore so I can see us going OL #1. If we do, I think our offense could be BETTER than last year.....but that our D will definately be WORSE. We dont want to be the old Colts, balance is needed to bring the team mentality together.

Putting aside the points for a second, which offense do you think will be more effective? I think folks are getting caught up in the records and points.

It'll be a tall order to be more effective than the best ever. Do you think they will actually be better next year?

Better as in more versatile, if they stray healthy. That's about it, I don't see how they could improve.

I would have to say........no it will not be as good

Will Morris AND Maroney stay injury free?

I think this depends on two things. It's going to be hard to replicate last year...Tom Brady throwing 50 TDs again? That'd be ******* amazing.

Like people have said, you have to have healthy RBs. Maroney and Morris have to be healthy to have a solid running attack, and you know how much Brady loves to dump it to Faulk. That trio all have strengths that I would say we need in order to be as good as last year.

The other consideration, is who is our 3rd wideout? Stallworth kind of took a while to take off last year, so I don't think his production will be too difficult to match (though his 15 yd avg was great), but who will do it? Gaffney has always been reliable, and I feel like he could do it...or is it Chad Jackson's time? Someone has got to step up, and I think it will be interesting to see who.

I think one interesting thing is that Gaffney caught more TDs than Stallworth last year. Seems that Brady enjoys him as a red zone target...perhaps that is his calling here.

records wise - no
balanced/chemistry/more time on the field/ - yes (which i think is more important now)

hey, anything can happen, i am just being reasonable haha.

Agreed, I'm not saying 16-0 is inevitible. I'm just saying that with the majority of the roster returning, and I mean, come on, it's Tom Brady...isn't a decent possibility? I think so.

Though I'd rather go 10-6 and win the Superbowl.

although it's possible to go 16-0 again, I would think teams would have spent some time this offseason looking at how they could stop us. Namely, game film of the last 6 games. Still, it's all about execution, and if we do that to perfection, there will be no stopping us. Personally, I think the offense will be as good as last year, but won't put up the points they did last year. Now the defense is where I think we will be improved, and they were pretty good last year.

I really hope the defense improves. I worry about that since we lost a lot of the secondary but I get the feeling BB is up to something. I think you are right that the point totals will go down, but I still think they have the ability to step up and blast a few teams.

I mean...Moss and Welker with a year under their belts coming back? I don't believe I've ever been "giddy" but if I have been, this is it.

IMO, the trick to the offense improving is not utilizing Moss more, but less. CJ will need to step up and stretch the field 25% of the time. Moss was in more plays than any player than Brady last year. His diminished production in the post-season was just as much caused by him wearing down as by defenses scheming against him. While the role of down-field threat is a crucial prescence, Moss can't be the only one expected to provide it and remain effective through a long season. Having Moss mentor CJ as they play the same DB's won't be a bad theing, either.
Like many, I'm sure, my confidence in the O-line took a big hit after SB42. Not many teams will be capable of duplicating the Giants domination, but you can bet many will try. I'm at a loss for the answer, but if BB/Pioli decide a #7 pick on the O-line is necessary, I'm all for it.
Finally, the maturation of McDaniels should prove critical to play-calling. At times, I felt I was watching a kid driving a sports car and "seeing what it could do" in extreme situations.

I'm not sure if they'll match the insane production point for point, but I really think a healthy Sammy Morris, Chad Jackson as a potential #3 stud (I was very disappointed with Stallworth in that role), and a full offseason to think about how best to use this offense will all turn it into an ultimately more effective unit. If all the RBs stay healthy, the 08 offense should have more balance, which is going to do it a lot of good.

There's a reason our offense slowed down towards the end of last year...teams learned how to defend it.

Unless McDaniels can pull a miracle out of his behind, there's no reason to believe our team will be able to put up the same numbers as last year. We have the same, if not better, talent. But we won't be able to average 40 points like we did last year in the first half simply because people know how to defend us a little better now. (namely, they know how to defend Randy Moss a little better)

So, you dont think Belichick and his people wont work on changing things up a lil bit because of this?

If Chad Jackson comes in and shows the skills that led us to draft him in the second round, then this offense could potentially be just as explosive as last year. Most people forget that, when he's healthy, Chad Jackson is a big, physical, and quick WR. I don't know if I can call him a burner yet, but he definitely has deep-threat speed. Our running game is fine. Maroney finally turned the corner and Sammy Morris is coming back. No need to draft McFadden. The top pick should go to making our defense younger and faster.

I doubt the offense will top last year, just because the odds of being better than the previous best for 2 straight seasons aren't all that great, but the notion that teams figured out the defense is a myth.

Oh, and there is no reason to draft another O-Lineman. If we do that, we're ******ed. Before the SB, everyone was talking about how good our O-Lineman are (some saying they are the best ever). The Super Bowl will be an abberation. Our lineman will be much better prepared to handle that kind of rush (and so will other offenses as the league is now copying off of the Giants and putting a priority on pass rushers). We will be fine. YOUNGER ON DEFENSE!!!

How can people forget something that has never been the case in his career?
