NFL.com has gathered writers from around the country to play GM for a day for the NFL team that they cover on a daily basis. Each writer will be "on the clock" to select their first-round pick.
Five new picks will be revealed each week leading up to the draft, with the final unveiling ocurring in the week leading up to the NFL Draft on April 26-27.

Check out Reiss's pick on here

For those who don't have the time or the inclination to click the links I can tell you Reiss chose Vernon Gholston. No idea who the previous 6 picks were.

1. Chris Long

2. Jake Long

3. Glenn Dorsey

4. Darren McFadden

5. Sedrick Ellis

6. Matt Ryan (he must have been smoking something here).

For reference, it only goes to 10 at the minute.....

8. Leodis McKelvin

9. Phillip Merling

10. Keith Rivers

Here's the picks for now

Miami - Chris Long DE Virginia
St. Louis - Jake Long OT Michigan
Atlanta - Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
Oakland - Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
Kansas City - Sedrick Ellis DT USC
New York Jets - Matt Ryan QB Boston College
New England - Vernon Gholston DE/OLB Ohio State
Baltimore - Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
Cincinnati - Phillip Merling DE Clemson
New Orleans - Keith Rivers LB USC

Thats what the beat writers for these teams think. A couple of surprises on this list especially the Jets.

You not checked out the link to 199overall.com at the top of the page? It's a Pats mock draft database.

One of the best sites on the web.
Haven't been there sorry -- I'll go check it out. Thanks!

Very Cool site -- anyone have an email address for them? My site would like to be added to their database.

6. Matt Ryan (he must have been smoking something here).

I actually think that's a very interesting possibility. If you're a Jet fan, do you really think Clemens is going to lead you to the promised land?

Good point and I agree. Now that you point it out, the notion that the Jets won't take a possible franchise QB if given the chance seems silly to me. If they think Ryan will be a better QB than Clemens, then maybe they'll take him. We're only talking about arguably the most important position in the game here...

I think you have to give the guy a shot, personally, and even if he's not, could Pennington perform better behind a better O-line? I know he has issues with his play, but how confident are you going to be behind a line that was getting you half killed most weeks?

If they're not confident in Clemens, they might be better served taking someone like Flacco or Henne further down, allowing them to use that #6 pick on someone that can contribute to their Franchise from day 1.

Matt Ryan to the Jets is a possibility to me that no one has been talking about much. He'd instantly be at least tied with Pennington for the starting job. Would love to hear what Jets fans think about it...

I've all but given up hope that Vernon Gholston will be there for the Pats at #7. Trade down and get Quentin Groves or Derrick Harvey I say...

Picks 1 through 5 would represent the best scenario for the Pats. If the Jets pick Ryan at 6, then the Pats take Gholston (assuming that's who they want). If the Jets pick Gholston, then there should be heavy demand for Ryan at the pick, and the Pats would be able to move down.

In response to the pick:

One name, Condon...

fantastic!
