Add to that there arent any decent QBs getting them the ball and it tells me only 1 thing.....Draft/trade for the front 7 and stop the running game! The rules restrictions on CBs is FAR more important than our division foes. Especially because we pretty much have to beat the Colts (except this past season) anyway.

The main reason is that none of them are a sure thing (beyond the blah blah blah of no pick is a sure thing). They each have some things going for them, but they all have valid questions.

The top-10 is rare air for CB, historically. Most chosen there have become Pro-Bowlers. None of this years CBs can truly be considered shoo-ins for future stardom. Potential is the operative word. DRC, for example. He's essentially Jonathan Wade from last year, but sexier.

I don't care about the teams in our division right now. None of them will threaten for the division for a while. I only care about the Colts and the other few "top notch" teams and we need solid corners to beat them.

This had to be one of the LEAST thought out "reasons" regarding NOT drafting a CB at #7 that I've ever heard of.

First of all, the Pats only play 6 games against division rivals. They play 10 games against other teams. Teams like the COLTS, Chargers, Bengals, and Jaguars.

Not to mention teams like Dallas, Seattle, St. Louis, etc.

The Pats don't need that much improvement to stop the running game. Since you missed it, they DID stop the running game extremely well last year.

Sorry, but building your team to win your division first is very short-sighted. And The Pats are already built well to stop teams inside the division.

The ONLY issue they have against the running game is the LBs. And they need an ILB ad OLB. However, those players aren't going to make an impact immediately. There are guys like Gholston, Goff and Mayo who will probably start making an impact towards the middle or end of the year, but not before hand. Until that time, the Pats will rely on guys like Thomas, Bruschi, and Seau to plug the run. Just like they have previously

We don't play divisional foes in the Superbowl do we? We could win our division playing Vince and LeKevin at CB, we need top notch corners for the TO's, Burress', Waynes and Harrisons of the world.

I won't argue with that Oslo, but one of them will get picked before 15 probaly... maybe 2 or 3.

The Eagles almost beat us last year because of the passing game. And then the damn David Tyree catch that led to Burress being WIDE OPEN in the end zone. The Pats need quality pass defense ASAP.

Unless you realize that the only position we need "big bodies" is OT or OG. And then you realize that there just isn't the quality of depth to go there.

The Pats do no need a DE because they are 5 deep there and I don't believe there is a player in the draft who would supplant Seymour or Warren as the starters. Nor do I believe that Dorsey or Ellis would be able to supplant Jarvis Green as the primary back-up.

NT. You don't use a 1st round pick on a back-up NT. Vince is signed for 2 more years. The Pats should have around 30 million in free cap space going into the 2009 season. That is MORE than enough to give Big Vince his contract extension and keep him in a Pats uniform.

And, with that much money available, there's also a good chance that Seymour cashes in big again, or the Pats decide to go in a different direction. But not before then.
