He is a balls out player that would def. be a great pick up.

He could fit in the Pats 3-4 pretty well.

Why not?

The Ravens probably want more than just a first round pick...

Any thoughts?

I don't think we can pay him. Nice player though.

No because I absolutely hate the way he plays... non-stop mouth talking trash and complaining about calls endlessly. I also seriously question whether he has the intelligence to play in this scheme.

How can anyone say no (besides the poster above me)? At his position, age, and ability all factored in the Ravens would laugh if you guys offered that.

You are a Jets fan. This is all that I need to know about your intelligence...

No mere mortal is worth the #7

Yea that makes plenty of sense, b/c obviously the standing of of my football team is indicative of my intelligence level:rolleyes:. You would not trade 7 for Suggs possible?

I think - big surprise - people here are being really naive. The Patriots would trade the #7 overall for Suggs IN A HEARTBEAT. It's just that the Ravens wouldn't.

I think you're being naive. If they can't come to an agreement (with all signs pointing to that, and he's even filed a grievance)... then they would certainly look hard at dealing him.

That is why I said that the Ravens probably want more than the #7.

He might act like a kid, but, he can def. play.

AD could mentor him some... they used to be teammates.

Just rekindling the Pats VS Jets romance aversion romance relationship... lol.:D

There is one way. If Ryan falls to #7 (The Ravens are #8). You have the Bears for sure, perhaps the Vikings and even the Falcons with enough choices to jump back in. Now business is open for BB. I say he'll dangle Ryan. The Ravens don't know how they are gonna pay Suggs anyway. They save CAP money by giving us Suggs for a #7, taking maybe Clady to take Ogdens place (cheaper slot than a QB) and then at #8 finally take Ryan to save more money. My issue is we have to do a "ballet with the books" to get Suggs under our CAP stuff although the remainder we have from our bargain basement raid has been dented negligible.

Once again though, how do we pay Suggs? We just don't have the room.

Was Suggs the guy who threw the penalty flag into the stands against the Pats?

Im pretty sure that was Bart Scott.

As far as the topic goes hell yes Suggs is worth the #7 pick. Fitting everything under the cap is the problem.

There is plenty of room under the cap for Suggs. All it takes is a Brady or Seymour or whoever restructure. If Suggs was available I'm sure it wouldn't take Pioli more than a few minutes to figure out how to make the money available for him.

Yes, because the Pats don't have anyone that talks trash. Just ask Wilfork or Harrison.

And what is this about people questioning whether people have the intelligence to play in our schemes? First of all, these guys have been playing football since they were 5, they can figure out defensive schemes. And although we have a bit of a complicated defense, it's not like the Pats have this amazing defense that only certain players in the NFL can understand. You, and others, make it sound like you need to speak Chinese to play in our system or we don't want you.

Suggs had his best years playing OLB in a 3-4 for the Ravens. He was dominant at that position. I would be very happy if the Pats traded the 7th pick for him because he is young and plays at a top of the draft talent level. His contract wouldn't even be all that much more than what we would have to pay the seventh pick. Yes, it would be more, but when you weight the risks factors of paying an unproven rookie, it definitely offsets the cost.

As for Suggs' trash talking, we shouldn't kid ourselves. We have/had a lot of players on this team that trash talk and do the same thing. Guys like Harrison, Vrabel, Colvin, and Hobbs have had their own trash talking incidents or at least have been caught on camera trash talking (or doing things like the Lights out Dance). A large number of defenders around the league trash talk. We have even seen Patriots players get into with the refs on calls too.
