Season Tickets

I don't know whether to be mad at the Krafts or not. They did, after all, save this franchise.

I'm a bit miffed. I've been a season ticket holder for 14 years and this is the first time I've felt uncomfortable about it. The timing couldn't be worse, increasing ticket prices by a third when the economy is taking a nosedive. The LEAST they could do is give us 'til June to pay up.

I had six and gave them up. Football games are better seen on TV ...

Nonsense. You see infinitely more action being there than on television.

Are they finally going to allow people to sell preseason games on ticket exchange?

I doubt it. Why would the Pats do that? It would be an embarrassment as there would be thousands of tickets available.

Thursday and Friday night preseason games don't do it for me. There is no way in the world I'm going to fight traffic from Woburn (where I work) down 93 or 128/95 to see the scrubs play. I'm with you on that.

I think it's a reality check that this thread has been up for three hours and nobody has jumped at the opportunity to buy them. I guess I should consider myself lucky in some respect that I only have to pay $1400 for my two seats in 339.

It's hard enough budgeting for 2 upper level seats. I can't imagine budgeting for two lower level seats.

Its the state of sports as we know it.. The krafts are just a part of it.. Its the way corporate world is today..

Kind of.

I have friends from Jersey that are *****ing and moaning that their Jets season tickets cost $80 and parking is $15. Are you kidding me?

I've been telling them that they are screwed when the new Stadium opens in a few years. PSL's, $40 to park, etc.

I guarantee you, we'd be much better off WITH PSLs. They keep ticket prices down plus they appreciate in value over time, like money in the bank, and you can make a hefty profit if/when you sell them. Plus, PSL owners can sell their tickets however they want without repercussion from the team.

Talk to Oakland and Carolina PSL's owners. Their "investments" have gone down.

I'm glad Kraft didn't institute PSL's. I wouldn't have forked over $2-$5k for the "right" to buy my season tickets.

Kraft knew that PSL's wouldn't work with this fanbase.

I agree Tune and it took me a few years to realize that.......just wait until JESTS fans see what is coming down the NJ Turnpike for them though.

Joe Klecko was on NFL Radio today and he alluded to words to the effect that it is going to be really costly...

I'm giving mine up so if anyone wants them they are yours. I will give you the invoice and my login for the website.

I have 3 seats. The cost is $5,105 and is due March 31.

Send me a PM if interested.

BTW: I don't care if the Patriots see this. What are they going to do, revoke my tickets?

Here is the view from my seats:

How long have you had season tickets?

Do you have information backing this up? My guess is that the PSLs owned by Oakland and Carolina fans are worth significantly more now than when they originally were purchased.

Sorry you have to give up your tickets. I know it must be really hard. I had to do a lot of convincing of my hubby to renew ours (we are in 236 & paid $2300+). He can't stand the parking situation anymore. Not only do you pay through the nose, but you sit for hours at both ends of the game trying to get in & out. The bogus mall has made things 10x worse. I just can't give up the live game experience (not yet anyway). I will probably end up selling some tix this year. Preseason games I just assume I will throw away. Can't even give them away.

I have a single season ticket available if anyone wants it. Here's the view...

Make me an offer.

Season Ticket Holder 1992-2007. You priced me out Bob.

I feel your pain. My seats aren't as good, nor are they as expensive.

But I think we are dropping our tix for the same general reasons...

*Too much of an increase in ticket prices
*Too expensive to park
*Can't get rid of preseason tix
*No chance at Super Bowl tix
*Traffic disasters on Sunday
*and just a general "you're expendable" attitude towards the existing season ticket holders because they have a supposed long waiting list.

My sentiment exactly. The biggest reasons being -- no chance at SB, and the expendable attitude of Kraft.

I have 3 seats on the 40 yard line, 6 rows up. Season ticket holder since around 1972, 1973. It's been so long I don't remember.

I also have an aversion to being bilked. Guess the people on the waiting list will be happy -- or maybe not when they see the price. Perhaps all these tickets will go to the "friends of Kraft".

Not a good period in Patriot history.

We are keeping our seats. (2) in section 336. I honestly was ready to give them up after the SB loss. My Dad wanted to keep them and since he goes to most of the games he's the one who decides. If we had (4) seats though I don't think we would still have spent the money.

Forget the pre-season games. We couldn't give away our tickets for the regular season Dolphins game last season. Ticket exchange is a joke. What gets me mad is that people still get away with scalping and have made a fortune off their seats. Meanwhile we lose money by playing by the rules. But life isn't fair is it?

It's not about the game as much as making money. Highest parking prices in the league and you can't even use the lots since they are now a mall, which makes even more money for them.

Kraft rewards the biggest spenders with SB tickets. That's the way it works. I don't care if you have had seats since 1975. He is going to give his allotment to the guy shelling out $20,000 or more per year for the club and luxery box seats. It sucks but that's the way it is.

Still a great value for your money. I used to spend $75 to go to Flyers games back in Philly. They play so many games that the effort and performance is unpredictable. Take a date and it's easily $150 for a Thursday night. Plus food and drinks. At least with a football game you are getting 100% from the players every week since there are only 16 games.

I'm not surprised that you haven't had any offers on the seats. NE still isn't a football town.

I feel your pain. I just paid my $3400 for my two seats. Have you thought about going from 3 seats to 2 seats. The people in front of me 2 years ago went from 5 seats to 4 seat. The single they got rid of now is sold in the ticketmaster sale. Call the ticket office and I.m sure you can do it. Now you are down to $3400 and I bet you could get some guys on here to take 1/2 season from you. I just hate to see the real fans priced out. I'm guessing at $169 a pop that I'll see new faces near me at every game next year. The days of the same guys next to you every week are gone.

Had 4 seats since the 60`s now have 2.
After all when you retire your benefits don`t go up.

Unless the Pats use a system that's very different from the Celtics, this will only give the person your seats for this season. The renewal will go back to you for next season. I can't believe that the Pats would allow season ticket "transfers" with a huge waiting list. It would be totally unfair to the ones waiting in line (with a $100/ticket deposit).

With the Celtics during the 80's, I was a "season ticket holder" for eight years with the invoice and tickets going to the "real" season ticket holder during that whole time. He even tried talking to the Celtics ticket office about it, and they told him, you give up your tickets, they go into the pool. You could not "transfer" season tickets on the Celtics waiting list. Eventually, as they started to stink, we were able to add my brother to the account as a co-owner and eventually take the original owner's name completely off, but by then, we didn't want the tickets either. :)

This is a good point. If you're looking to get these tickets to someone by going around the waiting list, my guess is that it will likely have to be done under the table, with the money looking like it's still coming from you. If you've researched and know what you're doing, please excuse me.

Just this morning on Fox news they had an economist on who was hinting that this recession may turn into a depression, what with a high national debt and interest rates dropping... hello inflation. My first thought was whether organizations like the Patriots and Red Sox that charge ultra premium prices for their entertainment industry product will be forced to address the fact that their fans and ticketholders are going to first pay to heat their homes, fuel their cars and put groceries in the cabinets; the money for $150 seats may dry up... or it may not, who am I to say.
