Maybe the team swaps CBs with Philadelphia and looks at Willie James who was likely cut/released for Asante's arrival.

Have not seen or heard any interest in him as of now.

Anyone know anything about this guy or ever seen him play?

I know after checking his stats he has not seen much action for the 7 years he has been in the league, but wonder if he would be worth a look - After all,Jason Webster is far from a lock at corner and that spot opposite Hobbs is scary weak right now unless an unexpected trade for a top flight corner is made soon.

Why did he change his last name?

I thought only women did when they got hitched ;)

If we are going to get a CB from the Eagles, I would rather have Lito Sheppard. Granted we would have to give up a pick for him, but a pick for Sheppard is better than Willie James off the street.

Buffalo had him in for a visit earlier this past Wednesday. The Jets had him in for a visit the week prior.

Neither team has signed him to date, and I haven't heard of him visiting anywhere else.

Back problems...and those can be very bad...I doubt he'll get a lot of interest..

He was an emerging young standout CB early in his career, but was out 14 months because of lower back problems. He's a very good cover corner who has good size @ 6-0, 200 and was a very productive player early in his career w/the Giants when he went by the name of Peterson. Following the 2003 season he was so highly thought of that the Giants signed him to a 5 yr, $27 million extension (was a 3rd Rd pick in 2001 draft). His injury was a fracture to a small bone in his lower back. As far as play goes he does anticipate routes pretty well and is a physical competitor. He is still athletic even after his injury and has long arms which help with the jam and press coverage. He does match up pretty well vs big WR's but does have problems with quicker smaller types. He also does a good job of using his hands to fight off blocks. He has good quickness when closing on short routes but lacks top speed to stay with the deep routes. Is overaggressive at times and he tends to jump routes getting himself out of position. He is a solid tackler and doesn't miss in open space. Although he is a backup, he is still relatively young @ 28 yrs old and could step up and become a starter for the right team.

I know that he was signed by the Bills yesterday.
