I'm with you, it still gives me warm fuzzies to think about sitting in a room full of Giant, Dolphin, and St. Louis fans just watching it happen. The first one, by miles. I don't think even the 19-0 season would have topped the first one for me.
39 for me - back to back.
Oh how many times has he told people that story? To quote Brady's equipment manager at Michigan: "The NEXT one".
Has to be 36. I remember wondering weeks after that what they could ever do that would even approach that again. But 38 was gratifying because of the no respect card we could still legitimately play - it proved a Cinderella team and QB could be both a fairytale and no fluke. 39 was gratifying because it cemented dynasty status for the team and HOF status for Brady.
I'm still looking forward to the next one. But mostly for the players and coaches. Too much of the enjoyment will come from (temporarily) shutting up the naysayers within more than anything, and that's unfortunate. We've become a very self absorbed and demanding fan base. I think as much as BB and Brady have their critics, a lot of the rest of the NFL has grown to dislike this team because of...US.
Thanks for the positive thread!
Nothing will ever beat 36 for me. Truly one of the best moments of my life. I still can't believe it!
