This must be Christmas morning for de-facto NFL Commissioner Specter. With Walsh's team nearing their interview date, Specter must be sharpening up the surgical instruments for his dream Super Bowl: He the leading actor in a national soap opera (a Washington inquisition), where he can slowly and methodically skewer the Patriots under the bright lights and cameras. Hoping against all hope for real bad news to emerge, he will be looking to tie up the Series 1-1, as the Democrats took Game 1 (Clemens/McNamee).

The whole thing stinks...plain and simple.

Specter=joke. Why get wound up about this idiot?

The Senate operates differently from the House. Specter can't issue subpoenas or compel witnesses to testify without the approval of the chair, Senator Leahy.

Yeah, that's true, but you gotta remember - Leahy is no prize, either....

Leahy is one of a group of people known as Vermen...

He'll be no help in this matter.

To hell with Specter, we all need to go to his website and protest / eMail him with our thoughts on his spending of taxpayers (that would be..umm..us?) money to start a witch-hunt on the NFL and the NE Pats.

Don't forget to boycott ComCast while your at it...:horn:

I just canceled my comcast (phone, cable and internet) and got the Verizon package.

Hey spector: nothing better to do than this witch hunt?

Just let this little sh** Walsh show what he's got. It'll never be over until he does. If it's nothing new or nothing at all, I think someone should file a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the Pats fans that suffered through Super Bowl Sunday leading up to the game. I couldn't even watch, it was making me sick. Thomase should be named along with Walsh. Probably some law prohibiting it, but if there is nothing new it would be nice to see them held accountable somehow.

>>>We still have a rather stubborn set of facts. Normally the allure of sports scandal is like crack cocaine to Congress, addicted as they are to ESPN and C-SPAN simulcasts. The most dangerous place in D.C. is between a politician and a camera. And yet in the case of Spygate, Specter stands alone. Is he a prophet of the next great sports scandal or a mule for Comcast, with balloons of bandwidth in his belly?
