So I was watching some of our SuperBowl seasons on DVD (3 Games To Glory and stuff) and I realized, our team isnt like what they used to be. We need to be more...IDK, into it. Maybe Im missing something, but we dont seem as excited as we did in those vids. We were kinda just...guys on the field. I hope im missing something, but we need to get more enthusiastic...so we can go 19-0 next season :p

we need more guys on our team, who havnt won 3 SB's....its only human nature to sometimes not want something that you already got, as much as you wanted it before you had it

You don't go 26 for 28 unless you're "into it".

You don't run a 10 minute drive down the Chargers throats to close out a playoff game unless yo're "into it".

You don't shut the Chargers down in the red zone 4 times in a playoff game unless you're "into it".

You don't run what would normally be the game-winning TD drive against the Giants in the Super Bowl with 3 minutes left unless you're "into it".

I guess I just don't see what you see. Then again, I'm focused on reality.

In the last game we played we only had 20 players who have won one SB let alone three. Go and count how many have won 3 . . . it's very few.

As for the thread - they were 18-0 - imagine how good they could have been if they were "more into it".

Do you realize just how many guys on the team have won 3 SBs?

Brady, Bruschi, Vrabel, Seymour, Light, K. Faulk

That's not a lot.

Hell, even the number that have only won 2 isn't a lot.

Rondey Harrison, Ty Warren, Jarvis Green.

That list also included Asante Samuel, Rosie Colvin (IRed for one), and Eugene Wilson at one point.

There are a LOT of guys on this roster who have never WON a SB. In fact, a majority of the roster hasn't won a SB.

I think the relentless pressure from the media just beat them down. and losing a game resets you and puts things back into perspective. winning might have been too easy

It was every opponents super bowl every week...that can be draining. The fact that it never affected them ....I will take that over not being SUPER PUMPED or whatever you mean. This is a PROFESSIONAL team.

Plus IMO, the explosion of cameragate II right before the eve of the game could have affected the higher level of intensity and focus required for SBs of this magnitude that give a chance to etch a place in football history.

I think these threads are getting a little ridiculous. We went 18-1 this year. We were one of two dropped interceptions of winning a fourth Super Bowl and we chose not to resign one of the guys who dropped the interception if attitude and concentration is the issue.

Most other teams' fans wish their team was like the Patriots and our fans don't want this team. Sorry, no team wins the Super Bowl every year. Yes, it is disapointing that we have come close to winning the Super Bowl the last two years and not got it done, but I don't think we need to change the whole team.

As for the into it stuff, I have never seen this team more focused than it was this season. They played with a chip on their shoulder and even in blow outs played like they were down. Attitude isn't the problem. I'm sure if the Pats won, they would have been jumping around and having a good time just like in the 3 Games to Glory Video that cherrypicks it's sideline shots anyway.

The film shown on the 3 games to Glory DVD's shows you players interactining on the sidelines, watching the actual game, you don't see that. Also, Jr for a longtime vet looked like a kid when he hugged Bruschi after the Pats scored late in the game, who in turn told him is wasn't over. You could see Jr respond accordingly and start looking for his helmut.

I think your comparing apples to oranges

The point someone made that since they already have rings, their not as hungry is valid, but don't you think the chance at history would have elevated their level of play ?

There's no other reason why they lost other then the Giants beat them, that's all there was too it.

Well said.

Stop asking "why", guys. Wouldacouldashoulda threads do not do us any good, and they're always spurious (like this one). Isolating "what happened" is hard enough for real live coaches. This particular angle about not being hungry enough because of the 2001-2004 teams, to the extent it even applies to these guys, is unlikely to explain more than a sliver of that Super Bowl.

They've all been close ones this decade. Get your head out of your buttocks. If you don't want to have these horrible, heinous three year streaks of "only" going to the division round, the AFC championship, and the super bowl, in successive seasons, christ, play in a 12 team league or something. The other team gets paid to win too.

We're back at base camp with a mountain to climb again. Don't think of it as "holding onto" something. We never got it. We're starting over.

Yeah, this is way too much over analyzing one game. The team lost the game, thats all there really is to it. We were the best team in the NFL, we will be the best team in the NFL going into next season, its just a matter of going out and getting the job done and playing 60 minutes. All this lacking emotion talk is way overblown, its about production.

The timing of the gold digger's lawsuit against Randy Moss was pretty darn awful too. I'm not sure if he was entirely on his game on Sunday. We needed a dominant game from him. I can't blame the loss on Moss though, the OL played awful, and Brady wasn't at his best either because of the foot injury. It was a bunch of things that added up to a loss that should never have happened.

The Giants did to the Pats in 07 what the Pats did to the Rams in 01. It's kinda ironic.

we certanly aren't the underdog anymore. i'm still trying to get used to being favored in every game !!!! lets go all the way in 08-09 :singing::singing:

ther is no team in our league in free agency. we've got the players and themanagement to keep this thing going, pretty good coach tooooo!!!

You're missing ALOT.

Gee, what a surprise that you saw excited players on highlight videos. Do you really think you would not have seen shots of enthusiasm if there was a 3GTG for the 2007 season?

Now I myself cannot believe some of these threads I'm seeing. Truly, truly pathetic.

Man that gave me a sick feeling in my stomach.

How the hell such an exchange doesn't follow up with an ultimate victory still haunts me.

Although I get the feeling Jr Seau is a man that's totally at peace with himself, I bet whenever he sees that clip, a cold chill goes up his back.
