NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks agreed to terms with Julius Jones.

This should end the Shaun Alexander era shortly. It's a dream scenario for Jones, who gets a surprise chance to start again on a productive offense. Seattle could add a rookie, but Jones should play ahead of T.J. Duckett and Maurice Morris. Jones regressed in Dallas, but he's an upgrade from Alexander and could mature late like his brother. Like any starter in Seattle, he'll get consideration as a RB2.

Juluis Jones, TJ Duckett, and Maurice Morris? I guess TJ and JJ are the starters and MM is 3rd down back?

I don't see it working, sorry.

I’ve had Seattle as my pre-season NFC Super Bowl team for the last 2 years.

Hope this helps them out, as I will probably be picking them again.

I can't say I pay close attention to the NFC, but how is Julius Jones an upgrade over Alexander?

Chronic injury?

bad signing by seattle, JJ sucks....

But why? It's like picking the Cubs to be NL champ, year after year. :p

As long as Alexander is under contract, he plays, and he just signed a big one. It would be a huge cap hit if they cut him, and they would get little value in a trade for a 30 yr old running back. Jones is just a solid #2 and a nice insurance policy, nothing more.

I don't know that I agree with this. That might be what they're thinking now, but JJ is a better back right now. And that'll come through in games.

I'm sure they're going to use him as a 3rd down back to hopefully take some physical heat off Alexander. But he won't stay a 3rd down back, I don't think.
