The Draft is a crapshoot, and yes the pats have done well, but they haven't really drafted any LB's and that is what we need, and CB's take awhile to develop, esp. in our Defense.

I'll Take a proven player over potential anyday of the week, esp. when you have so much gaurenteed money going into first round picks.

Dillon, Moss, Ted Washington, Welker, all traded for, all proven NFL players.
No complaints here.
The Patriots do not need to trade for wide receivers whatsoever. The record setting New England Patriots offense is set for 2008.

No way ... as it is Welker and Moss are getting a good amount of throws to them ... guys like that need their throws to stay sharp. 4-5 catches for the #3 guy is more than enough and Gaffney fills the role well.

Who are the Patriots going to cut in order to make room for Fitzgerald and the money he will want? Rodney Harrison? Kevin Faulk? Mike Vrabel?

This is the NFL, where there is a salary cap; it's not the office fantasy football league where the only players on your team are quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers.

Sign Fitzgerald for Jabar Gaffney's contract and I'm all for it.
Sign Fitzgerald for what the Eagles offered Moss and I say no way.

The Patriots have been successful year after year by spreading money across all positions and obtaining quality depth. Teams like the Cardinals and Lions that spend a lot of money on one or two positions and are forced to go cheap on both lines and defense and overall depth have not been successful.

Why would Pats fans want to get away from a successful formula?
Well it sure as hell felt like the office fantasy football league last year, and other than one game, I would have to say that it worked out pretty damn well!!!:singing:

Gaffney will be OK, Fitzgerald brings this team to a different level.

Love Fitz's play but I don't think we could ever afford him.

The Arizona Cardinals will not trade Fitzgerald. End of discussion. This topic is one of the worst if not the worst so far on the PatsFans message board in 2008.

Do you have some inside information?

And if you didn't notice the question is hypothetical, so Fitzgerald's availability doesn't really come into play. And for the right price Everyone is available.

Your speculation is baseless and this is the NFL not some Madden video game.

Are you employed by the Arizona Cardinals football organization?
I'm not the one who stated something so definitive, you were the one who said he's not available.

I've read in different places that they were shopping him, do you have evidence to the contrary?

You are 100% incorrect. They would love to get something good in return for a player they most likely will not be able to keep long term. It makes all the sense in the world for them to move him and not lose him for nothing.

Maybe I should have prefaced my statement that the Arizona Cardinals will not trade Fitzgerald to the New England Patriots, who have far greater needs on defense this off-season than wide receiver.

Again, maybe you didn't tune in last year, but there were plenty of people who though the Pats were doing things, that seemed impossible to do in Madden 07.

Countless people made the comment that they made look easier then a video game.

and be honest now, weren't you against Moss coming here last year as well?

You did not answer the question.

Fitzgerald is better than Moss.

But you can't have both. Especially if you want to have a defense. The answer is no, as much as I love Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald might be better than Moss at poker, or the trombone or something, but Moss was the best receiver in the game last season.

Al Davis has lost his mind. Do you expect the rest of the NFL general managers and NFL owners to do so in the process?

Moss was better last season but if I could choose between the two I would take Fitz.

Well to be fair, you probably should of prefaced alot of your statements different.

anyways Why wouldn't the Cards trade him to a team in an Oppisite Confrence, and if the pats had the best deal out there for the Cards, they wouldn't trade them to the Pats BECAUSE...?

You didn't answer my question.

Were you or were you not opposed to Moss coming here last year?
