i dont know why...but this is the most exciting offseason ive felt so far....

last year we got moss and welker and AT, and i was not this up beat....

this year we have resigned moss, have signed a couple of no name guys, and have lost a defensive star....yet my excitement is really high

i dont know why, but i believe next year we are a "lock" to win the SB....(i dint feel like that this past season)

maybe thats the only reason, but man ohh man am i excited for this offseason, and cant wait to see the look of our team (especially defense, but offense as well) next year

19-0 :rocker:

word, me too. I was thinking the same thing actually. Maybe its the easy scheduel, but I'm really excited about the new season. I got a feeling the D is really gonna be put together by then.

I dont know about you guys, but one of the thing that gets me pumped going into a new season are the NFC matchups. Its a chance to play some fresh teams we dont get to see very often. So, this year we get the West. Which means the Rams with Steven Jackson, Seattle with Hasselbeck and that crazy stadium, Arizona with Fitzgerald and that Leinart fellow, and San Fran with, well, WITHOUT that 7th overall pick, so that game will be fun from that perspective alone. And I fully expect atleast 3 beatdowns in those games. That game IN Seattle may be a dogfight, but I do believe its the only current stadium where Brady has not won a game. Well, that and that new Colts recording studio.

And of course the draft maybe we'll actually make some picks these year. But to have the 7th overall?? are you kidding me? gonna be a great year.

Before the dolphins went perfect they lost in the SB, i think the pats are going to grind opponets into dust this year.

first off..the pressure is off BIG TIME...we lost the game EVERYBODY ELSE in the country was desperate for us to lose.

It's the wave effect...what comes rushing in ebbs in the opposite direction.

No more Tomase's to drop game altering lies two days before the Super Bowl...no insane octogenarian fools like Spectre(sic) to orchestrate a hate campaign nationwide....no crackers from Dallas newspapers and St Louis rags making completely insane statements of "fact" that turn out to be plain LIES. They got what they wanted.

NOW everyone is beginning to realize what a witchhunt it was. ESPN is beginning to realize that it REALLY BLEW IT with its demographic. They've lost the entire NEW England region. I thought it would be a cold day in hell before I ever sent an e-mail to some corporate monolith registering dissatisfaction but I made sure to let the ESPN people available know that not only would I not be watching much of their programming ever again, but when I did, I would boycott EVERY SINGLE SPONSOR and tell all my friends and family to do the same thing, and in the process, contact every sponsor possible and TELL THEM I am no longer using their product because of their association with ESPN.

I'm born and bred die hard New England stock...give you the shirt off my back and I mean that....you cross ME? I NEVER EVER forget...rest of my life jihad...which is jsut what these imbeciles like the Jay Mariottis and the Easterbrooks of this media have done. Ten years from now when I'm in my 60's and I see a Greg Easterbrook in a restaurant in downtown Boston...I'm right in his face with a litany of his lies MEMORIZED and screaming in his punk face...no matter where his career has taken him. THAT is the biggest miscalculation these media morons made this season...they thought the New England fanbase was a flock of sheep like the fans everywhere else...BAD MISTAKE.

nice dude nice, I dont know why put I wanna jump up and yell "yeah!" when I just read this.

I think the pressure's on, but I think that's the best thing that could have happened. As was said, Miami's perfect season came after a BIG SB loss, let's hope (and I think it's already been fairly well stated by Randy) that the team plays with an even bigger chip than last year with even more talent and a stronger system. We thrive under pressure, and the only way to get back to what we could have been is to do it all, so I am super excited about the offseason, Moss, and the defense thus far. To have what we already have and the draft, I think we're in good shape!

Great post Joker.....I am right with you brother.

Send those emails, keep the pressure on and let them all see they went too far, for no reason except trying to manufacture and escalate a relatively minor situation.

Mediots simply went to far, I will not buy the Herald or go to their site anymore, I will not support the sponsors that support ESPN, all NY newspapers, Letterman, Sports Illustrated, Comcast etc etc. I do not watch nearly as much ESPN - sure, sportscenter I am in - but I used to watch all the talking head shows, Rome, PTI, Sports Reporters etc - not anymore, they are all out.

AND finally, I do not know how it is possible, but I love this team more now than ever, BB/SP/Kraft......you guys rock big time.

I am sooo! with all of you guys. Love the team more than ever...........Season ticket holder since '71.
I'm a little worried about Light Skate? What do you think?

and understand, I'm just one little tiny fragment of the fanbase...I'm sure they get all kinds of disgruntled fans writing about all kinds of wacky perceived slights...but I went out of my way to make sure the recipients realized I was a man who didn't ordinarily go out of his way to voice displeasure. I'm hoping that even ONE stuffed shirt got a bug in his wig to take the time and extrapolate the volume of negative New England fan feedback against the mean fan volume league wide and then took the time to research possible loss of revenue if this groundswell is indeed a real phenomenon.

Already, ESPN is feeling the effect and you can see it. Whoever said on these threads that "I'm canceling my ESPN the Magazine subscription when it comes up for renewal"...THIS is a tremendous device to twist their screws...a sudden drop in subscriptions throughout the New England area is SURE to get the bean counters alarmed...and we all know what THAT means....crap does indeed flow uphill right into their corporate offices. After all, ESPN is first and foremost in the business of making MONEY...hit their bottom line or even make the threat very real and you'll see reaction.

Obviously we have needs - and while BB is far from perfect I wouldn't rule out finding the next Mike Vrabel among the NFL "Clearance" rack.

But overall I expect this offseason to be like many prior to the 2003, 2004 SB years when we did a great job finding quality depth that was key to winning for so long. None of the names grabbed the headlines, but they were as, or more important than the bigger names signing for bigger money those years.

there's been one HUGE signing though....

and this plays right into what I'm talking about re: the media bias...BB let Moss walk...he didn't franchise him which he EASILY could have to cover his azz, right?

so..the first thing we see is that idiotic 5 goober nationwide round table with Marriotti in SF , that idiot in Dallas, the other aw shucks sh!tkicker with the Bear Bryant accent, some dweeb with coke bottle glasses and some other mutt...what are they ALL saying??..."Big mistake!!!!! NE blew it!!! Moss will DEFINITELY BE GONE!!!"...blabberating and blubbering like Navy drunks on leave in the Phillipines for crying out loud, to a man stomping all over BB the man, the coach, his intelligence, his decision making and his future in the Patriots organization.

This program aired , what, 30 -40 times so far? Yeah, it's gone now that Randy signed but good ol' We'll Screw The Pats- SN was positively in their glory bashing BB and the Pats.

Then the REAL story came out....CRICKETS...where'd these nitwits disappear to?

Now the word is ESPN is in the midst of MASSIVE reorganization, including a wholesale purge of current "personalities"....gee, I wonder why? Couldn't be an asteroid loaded with 5 billion cases of crow eggs landed on their corporate offices in Connecticut, could it?

man ohh man is espn doomed....

i for one have nothing of it, espn is dead to me....

Well, it may be too late, damage done?? First, they can start by righting some of the wrongs brought toward the organization its owner & coach. Just report facts - honestly and in the proper perspective is all I ever wanted.

I'm with you guys. Feeling more pumped and confident this off season than I can ever recall. I think it's because I saw what this team can do, and knowing that the offense will come back even stronger, and that BB and the other coaches will find a way to shore up the D... I'm just feeling good. Like, 14-2-and-here-I-come-Tampa-Bay-good.

Lie in the weeds and strike like vipers at the end of the season

Definitely BB is going to pump up the team, especially after a devastating SB loss. They fell into the same trap as the rams did in 01, but next year BB will make sure that won't happen again.

I want 19-0, but bringing the SB back to New England is all I care about.
