Somebody's going to come along and tell us how this speech is overhyped and how Favre is a drama queen who went on way too long and should have stopped long before he did.
Actually as it turns out this would make a good football fan primer for all the knee jerks in various fandoms to have to listen to so they have some remote appreciation for what goes in to being a HOF player or a double digit career player or just making it into the NFL before they slam guys whose jock they could never carry for missing a tackle or blowing a coverage or throwing a pick... Although most of those kind of fans would never get it anyway.
The Favre ball washing by the media was annoying beyond belief. But that's something the media did. In the end, warts and all, Brett is a pretty neat guy.

Brett Favre's per game stats are pretty mediocre. I think he has been a top QB at times in the league but people want to make him out as an all-time top 10 QB and I can't agree.

Thing is, players do and guys who coached the game do and guys who covered the game when say Felger was still in HS - they do. What we as fans and mere amatuer observers often fail to grasp is we dont always know a fraction of what we like to think we know.
I always thought Brett was one of the most classiest and fun QBs to watch over his career and will miss those crazy out of nowhere passes and the unpredictability of his talents.
He will be missed by me and many other NON-Packer fans out there as well as the devout cheeseheads.
He was an asset to the league and my wishes for the best of luck for the rest of his life to a QB and guy that no one really can find good reason to dislike him since he rarily had anything bad to say about any team or player and was about a good father and husband figure outside of football as you could hope for.
