The first time I noticed the gap in affection was back in 2003, why is it that people hate Brady so much but always want Manning to do well? It really perplexes me, Manning has the sellout factor with all the commercials and the whininess that he seems to have grown out of. Brady has always been humble to the media and fans I just don't get it. Obviously theres gonna be more hate here since I go to school in Buffalo but I'm from Albany and people hate him alot there too. I just don't get why people don't atleast give credit where credit is due.

Maybe because wives, gfs & daughters are so gushy about Brady. The good thing about tanking the SB is that Brady is in my wife's doghouse right now.

Well I live in PA and I see it here too. Even after Peyton won his Superbowl. I dont know, maybe if the Colts won another 1 or 2 Superbowls(shudder), people would hate him more.

Because they're idiots. There, I said it.

Manning is a goofy looking every man. People arent threatened by him. More of a commoner. Brady appears as more of a pretty boy, Wally Cleaver, too good to be true kindof guy, and that can just steam alot of people that dont understand that he's a regular guy. There's obviously more to it, but on the surface, imo its a combination of some simple jealousies.

I was going to say "because the country is fully stocked with morons" but apparently someone else beat me to it.

I prefer having a quarterback that the entire country isn't infatuated with. I prefer having a quarterback who isn't in every other commercial. I prefer having a quarterback who avoids being on top of the highest-paid list, so the team around him can be better.

Let the idiots hate. Is it our problem?

Who cares? People waste too much time trying to defend Brady/BB/Pats. I don't understand why people even engage in the conversations. Just watch the games and be happy.

its two reasons....
1. you live in NEW YORK

2. more jealousy of brady then manning, b/c deep down they all know brady is better and he has won more SB's

I personally find Peyton's klingon forehead rather affable.

Where do you get that conclusion (that Brady is hated). I don't see that at all. Belichick, yes, because people see him as lacking in personality, and now the camera thing, but Brady is highly respected around the country, I would venture to say.

No one who hates him would admit it, but I consider this the number one reason. People are jealous of Brady in a way they aren't of Manning, because the latter has the look of a big, goofy everyman. The way Brady looks, and the lifestyle he leads, engenders a lot of jealousy from Joe Six Pack, especially when his wife can't shut up about how dreamy he is.

Brady doesn't work Bar Mitzvah's?

:D

Because on the 8th day God created Tom Brady. He is absolute perfection and jealousy breeds contempt. Seriously, there is nothing wrong with this guy, he has it ALL.

I think a lot of this has do with the fact that Manning is the son of a former NFL QB. I also think the fact that Manning was a highly touted first round draft pick helps him too.

People love an underdog and Brady being a sixth round pick you would think would be better except Brady was no longer an underdog after 2 years. And he continued to win and people continued to get jealous.

I agree I was almost going to write what you said verbatum. The average fan can't relate to the image Brady projects, even though he's as much as a down to earth guy as Manning.

1 plays for Dungy, and the other plays for Belicheck, enough said.

I live in PA also and around here it seems that people hate Brady/Pats because they always beat the Steelers/Eagles and won 3 super bowls. I think up until recently the Pats/Brady had this aura of invinciblity, that no matter what happened during the first 3 quarters the Pats would pull it out in the end. Almost like Jordan when he played for the Bulls. But after Peyton won his SB, I still heard Steeler fans saying "I love Peyton's commercials, I would buy anything that he is selling, he is so funny." My reaction was usually vomitting in my throat.

because the mannings have a face only a mother could love, and brady is the definition of sexiness, so people seeing tom brady brings back all the memories of them being bullied in high school for not having brady's looks, and that they look similar to a manning so they empathise with them, hate brady, but deep down, they want to be tom brady with the rings, and hot girlfriend
