If there was ever any question before I feel this draft will be firmly defensive. I will be suprised in the first 4 rounds if there is more than one offensive player selected.

You just know it's gonna be linebacker. BB broke the mold last year and went after free agents or trades aggresively.

I think the breaking of the mold continues and we will see two linebackers in the first 3 rounds.

The offense should be in great shape again.

Time to stack the defense.

Say they put Merriweather at cb. A couple of speedy linebackers to our current roster and this team is on great shape. Just need a little depth at safety and corner(which will most likely be in the first 4 rounds.

Draft rounds one thru three must be defensive players with at least two cornerbacks selected. Hopefully, the New England Patriots will be able trade down from the seventh overall draft selection and pick up another second round draft pick.

I agree LB's and DB's gotta me our main focus day one of the draft. Im really hopin they leave Merriweather at S he showed some flashes especially late in the season.

It's gonna be a repeat of the 2003 draft all over again...

i expect all D in the draft with a TE mixed in, you know BB and his TE's haha

In the words of Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friends"

Let's not assume what they will do just yet! It's logical to think LB and CB but our offense still has some questions that they will address like:

1. Stephen Neal's injury at Right Guard
I could almost guarantee we look O-Line on the 1st day if not free agancy.

2. Sammy Morris's injury at RB
His injury was serious and with RB being so deep in talent. It's not impossible they wont look that way in the 3rd round if the value is too good to pass up on.

3. Our TE situation
We are not set at this position by any means. Watson is the ONLY starter we could count on being ready. Thomas as talented a pass receiver he is has been snake bit since coming into the league and you can't count on him for sure. Plus, we need a blocking TE to replace Brady so we don't have to use another tackle and limit our offensive sets when he's in. Again that would be a value pick.

I do believe we will finally go LB on the 1st day but I don't neccessarily think it will be an DE/OLB like everyone assumes. I believe the inside is more important at this time so we could keep AD outside where he is best suited and comfortable. If it's an DE/OLB I believe he needs to have the ability to move Inside.

Let see what free agency unvails first.

defense.... we dont need no stinkin defense.....we got Moss:D

Yea, I'd also like to see at least 1 o-linemen brought in on day 1.

Say they put Merriweather at CB. Why not put Wilfork at Linebacker?

Merriweather was not good at CB, he didn't like CB, he was just being cross trained. He's not a cornerback, he's a safety.

If a player has the ability to start at cornerback, that's where he plays in college. Old slow cornerbacks go to safety, safeties do not convert to cornerbacks.

i totally forgot about neals injury, we wont know anything about that till camp.
i think sammy morris will be ready for the 2008 season.
i think bill goings to draft a TE somewhere with thei 3rd pick.

Sorry for the rant (Merriweather), but it's true. Two cornerbacks and a LB or two, I hope.

Don't forget the tight ends... I swear BB must have a calender in his officer just full of pictures of tight ends. ;)

Seriously? I could see one low third round on. We have not covered ourselves in glory with the value at that position

If one of the biggies is there at #7 I'm thinking we can trade down twice...:D
Actually it's possible IMO if Ryan is there and then again if Brohm is there ... :D :D

At least one first day OL. None of the ones we drafted the last yr stuck. IIRC, there were none on the Practice Squad.

I see a trade down. My prediction (read: pipe dream) is that McFadden WILL fall to #7. The Pats swap with Dallas for their 2 #1's plus a 2008 day one pick. The Pats then take Quinten Groves with the one pick, trade the other for a 3rd and 4th in this year's draft and a 2nd in next year's. Draft Antone Cason in round 2 (possibly a trade up here). In round 3, draft Jonathan Goff and the best available defensive back.

Basicly, if McFadden falls, the Pats tust might be able to land a pass rushing OLB, a run stuffing ILB, and 2 corners, all while loading up for 2009, where Rey Muauluga and James Laurenitis await.

I would also think a first day OL choice is possible.
Since this year the first day is only 2 rounds that means there will be mucho anxiety on this board if it does happen.
I think a CB on the first day is more likely than an LB,but we will know soon enough.
