Sorry but no one picked this up in the other misguided thread.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

Does he play ILB or CB?

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

What is with all the Chad Johnson stuff? Defense, people, defense.

No way, we'll groom him as a replacement for Kevin.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

Trades don't affect supplemental picks.
Teams overpaid for Samuel,Stallworth and Gay ie 2nd,3rd,3rd guestimate in 2009...
Colvin?
Wilson?

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

That ship sailed when Moss re-signed.

This is a crappy subject title, btw.

3 is the highest, and a better estimate is 3, 5, 6(!)--assuming Stallworth merits anything (since his option was declined).

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

Why??? I see NO REASON for Chad coming here now...

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

with the 3rd round we can get a TE 4th, an asante type player, 5th maybe a bruschi, we have bigger issues, than adding another coat of pain to our offence

Not that it's going to happen but....

The Colts had Harrison opposite Reggie Wayne for many years, the Rams had Torry Holt and Bruce. They really didn't need a reason for doing it. They just did it.

Personally I do think we need a wide receiver capable of going over the middle 15-20 yards downfield on a post.

He doesn't have to be Chad's caliber, but we don't have thos WR on our team yet. Deion Branch used to be excellent at it.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

who comes up with all these stupid trade ideas???

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

Why does everyone want Chad Johnson?
He is a great talent, but NE offense is set and they only lost Stallworth and maybe Gaffney.

What the team needs is defensive help, after losing 4 starters.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

The Pats getting Moss seems to have warped everyone's thinking. PLEASE STOP with these Johnson threads.....I assume it's because BB seems to like him, but another WR is so far from a need it's not even funny. Just stop. Mods, feel free to delete some of these lame threads.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

this is silly. I'd rather see Gaffney re-signed. (If he hasn't been. I'm still at arms distance with the Pats for now.)

I want to see Chad Jackson come into his own. He's still got a lot of potential.

And we need young defense and offensive line help. I'm very curious to see what happens with that 7th pick. I think our 2nd and 3rd rounders should be D.

Re: OUR 3rd,4th, 5th for Chad Johnson (incentive laden contract)

Dum dums,

and I say that affectionately, since we are all Pats fans here....

We only got Stallworth the ball 40-odd times last year. We are used to winning with NO premiere wideouts. Hell, we got to the AFCCG with Reche Caldwell as a #1.

Set your sights on bringing back Gaffney &/or Washington, or <gasp> hoping Chad Jackson matures. He deserves a season in at least the #2 spot to make his case, or else why is he still here? (Hint: He ain't here to take the slot from Welker.)

Think about our offensive production last year. What was missing? Yep. Bupkiss. We got it done on offense. The only "collapse" in the SB really was the O-line -- and way more is being made of the SB than of 18 other games. Granted, you can make as much of it as 2 other games or 4 other games, but not 18 other games. This is a great offense... and we've lost only Dante Stallworth from that team.

The fire-sale on the defensive side of the ball should tell you something. Please, for the love of God, wait 3 years before bringing up Chad Johnson again.

Thanks,

PFnV

He doesn't deserve a season in the #2 spot. He'll get a chance to win it in camp just like every other WR they bring in. If he does, great. If he doesn't, soon enough he'll answer your question by going the way of Bethel Johnson.

Finally someone thinking rationally.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE. I mean, I figured out that it was conjecture, but only after a second or two of impulsive reaction.

Hey Hamz, ya left off the other 2 receivers mentioned and the key conjunction "or".

I went back and reread it. It still appears to say that Chad Jackson deserves a season in the 2 spot. I disagree with that. Perhaps that isn't what you meant.
