Enough Moss talk, Clayton just reported on espn news, that Moss just called up Chad Pennington and see if he wants to reunite on the old marshall days, and see if the jets could help that happen.. Ok that is joke

How bout Gaffney, what would you resign him for???

Not sure we should go over 4m. If our cap is at 22. Maybe Moss hit this year will be only 8 or 9. That gives us enough room to sign Gaffney if under 4, trade for Lito(6m? maybe this year after restructure, trade down from 7. I'm ready to roll with those moves and a good draft.

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

About $2M a year, no more. He's just a guy, I wouldn't pay too much to get him back.

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

I will go 3 yr 9 mill with incentives..

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

If Moss stays, I wouldn't go above $3M per, which I know would likely mean he's gone. With Moss and Welker back, I'd be more than willing to say what the hell lets see what CJ or KW can do opposite Moss. Would save a lot of money

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

Gaff was cut by Houston and Philly because McNabb needed "playmakers". We signed him off of the insurance sales team.

My guess would be $1.4-$1.8 and some incentives.

Another post has Minnesota interested. Maybe he has had enough of playing with loser QB's and then getting cut.

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

3 mil. a year sounds fair to me, for all intensive purposes.

i think hes gonna get around a 4-year deal in the range of 12-15 million at least

I think he will too - but I wouldn't be paying that.

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

I think washington could emerge as a 4th option, a possible 3rd but if gaffney does go we need a another option.. Jackson is at best a huge??? I dont know if we would go the Reche Caldwell route again.. Gaffney is a good possesion wr, even though he was missing in the super bowl.

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

i really like gaffney, i would give him 2.5 a yr with incentives to increase it to a max 3yr....

a 3yr deal for 9mil aint a bad idea....

then we have

moss
welker
gaffney
kelley
and CJ

and hte usual PS guys can be backups if we need em

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

the phrase is "intents and purposes"

no no no, you are thinking of something else....a different phrase.

I'm talking about certain specific purposes that are very "intensive".

the phrase is "intents and purposes"

i also thought it was intensive purposes...

btw, didnt you bring this up before?

Re: What would you resign Gaffney for??

Gaffney seems to really get the Pats offense and has Brady's confidence, which should not be under appreciated, there have been a lot of players that didn't do as well as Gaff has. That being said I would try to get him for 3 or 4 years at $3-3.5 a year. I think having some continuity there really helps the offense and Gaffney is a proven commodity here in NE.
