I will update as an 'official' transaction occurs (However, I will utilize 'reportedly' media reports as acceptable since the odds are usually accurate).

Just for all the chicken littles and doomsday predictors, that is a 10-6 team AT WORST year-in year-out. With our easy schedule, 12-4 seems very likely. Oh yeah, and we still have 22 mil in cap space, the #7 overall pick, and 4 first day picks in all.

I think it best to compare it with other rosters at this time..NOT at all bad..and with cap space and draft picks..ALL will be fine..

I believe his chart shows Merriweather as a backup CB/FS/SS. If he was going to be a corner, I think he would be listed ahead of Spawn.

Meriweather is our starting FS next year. I don't want to hear anything about him playing CB. He's a huge upgrade over the coverage skills of Harrison or Sanders, both of whom are SS. He started the Super Bowl, and he will be starting at FS week 1 for us come this fall, and his emergence will be a huge factor in the improvement of our defense next season.

Actually, I was getting kind of worried, but when I see it on paper like that, it makes me feel a lot better.

Basically, our needs are the same as they always were:

LB (ILB) - one, maybe two
CB - one, maybe two
WR - Re-sign Moss, maybe add another unless Chad Jackson is finally ready to deliver, which may very well explain why the Pats let Stallworth walk. Assuming they re-sign Moss, you've got Gaffney/Welker behind him, with Jackson/Washington rounding it out.

D-Line still looks strong. Safety position is fine. RB, QB, O-Line, TE (assuming Thomas is healthy) all solid.
