Say if we do not re-sign Moss...does that not leave us with a lot of money? Considering we did not resign Stallworth, Colvin, Samuel, and possibly Gay and Moss, does that not leave us with a lot of money to play around with? Are we saving it for the 7th pick perhaps? Maybe re-signing some of the d-line? I just think it'll be intriguing to see what we do with the money we have hanging around now if we're not spending it...

I really think Moss will be back here for many reasons, one of which is he will be well paid.

Don't worry many teams overspend in the 1st 48 hours and when things calm down we will make some moves..

Everybody calm down..

i think if you don't sign moss you may trade the #7 to dallas for their two first rounders

who knows though, everything's still wide open

Give the money back to season ticket holders for the SB debacle.

No...they have to give the money back to the Rams and Jets season ticket holders. Might as well throw every season ticket holder in the NFL for the last 8 years.

idiotic Rats troll needs to be banned

Two years ago they had money left to spend and used it to clean up some of their cap numbers so the next year they could spend big. I hope they sign Moss, but if they don't then they will take care of cap and use it down the line.

"What do we do with the money?"

Show it to Tom Cruise? :D

This is the exact point I've been waiting to make. This is not out of character AT ALL for the Pats. They are never big spenders in the first wave of FA. This is when all the marginal players looking to strike it rich get the huge contracts from mediocre teams. In a few days or so, the spending will slow down, prices will drop, and then the Pats can acquire good talent at relatively normal prices. I guarantee you they are talking and showing interest to a lot of players, but they will not overspend, no matter how frustrating it is to the fans.

I can see 3/4 rookies on the team this coming year.
We will have a lot of OPEN spots. Maybe one or two will be a LB.

It makes me happy to know that losing has caused you so much pain.:)
