Will Tom Brady be the first one...?

Just shows how little "yards" gained or defended means.

There's 80 yards between your 20 and the end zone and how many you pile up (or don't on defense) mean absolutely nothing if you get into (or don't) the end zone.

well, ther records we break just keep piling up dont they?

Yeah, but this is only the second time a quarterback with a 79% (98/124) winning percentage for NFL game starts has tried it. Tom didn't do it in 2005, but I'm sure he'll make up for it.

In fact, QB's that play in the Super Bowl with lifetime winning percentages of over 71 (more then 50 career starts) are 9-2. Of course there are only 3 QB's that fit into that category; Joe Montana (72%), Roger Staubach (74%), and Brady (79%)

I always liked the stat that QB's with the initials "TB" are a perfect 7-0 in Super Bowls. It is by far the most winningest initial of the Super Bowl era.

Can you tell us why you think those stats have any relevance toward the Patriots? Let me tell you what that list is missing...The New England Patriots! If you're a Patiots fan and you still have doubt, shame on you!

Another anomaly is that many times passing leaders are on sucky teams which are always playing from behind.

The 2007 Pats were a team that used your team as a practice squad after the game was no longer in doubt, due to some factors outside the scope of this statistical study.

This skews the relationship between passing (usually because you have to,) and losing (which we haven't done yet.)

We pass because we LIKE it.

For some reason this stat randomly popped in my head today.

The league passing leader not winning the Super Bowl streak continues, werid stuff...

It has a little more to do with him playing like a total loser in the Super Bowl. Brady needs to get his f'in head checked, he was garbage in the playoffs.

In all fairness, Brady did, like, you know, set the all time record for copletion percentage in a playoff game against Jacksonville some short 7 weeks ago. His game against San Diego was crap, but youcan;t put too much blame on Brady for the Super Bowl. His offensive line failed him, Faulk got hurt and all the recievers not named Walker sucked it up.

For what it's worth, Brady's 2008 postseason was better than Manning's 2006 postseason.

Not just for play-off games. ANY game...EVER.
