It's clear to Me that this board has plenty of Fair Weather Fans. To accept the premise that many of You are presenting,You have to believe that Bob Kraft,Bill Belichick, and Scott Pioli have all begun taking stupid pills. They did not become dumb overnight. They have a plan.We haven't seen it yet but I for one will stick with them based upon their track record. The Patriots won Super Bowls without Randy Moss and without Asante Samuels.the guys at the top know what they are doing.Just wait and watch,it will become clear very soon.Stop jumping to conclusions that are simply based on raw emotion.
Some of Us know how bad thing can really get,We were there. This team is loaded and it will reload, just wait and watch.
We are not headed to 6-10.We are just rearranging the deck chairs.Players come and go,the plan works and it will again.

A fair weather fan is someone who only follows the team exclusively during good times.

Coming off the most disappointing loss in sports history and still in the midst of one of the biggest scandals in NFL history isn't exactly the sunniest of weather.

People just react to things differently, a lot of negative energy around these parts lately.

Some of the fans overeact to things. Like when they posted about how Tom Brady should be moved to the backup because he was washed up after they lost to the Jets in 2006. They do not think clearly and freak out way to easily.

Right on :rocker:

I undestand that 6-10 is not a likely possibility, and I am not one of the gloom and doomers, but I guess I can't blame some of those who fear a season like 2005.

In 2005 the Patriots were coming off two straight 14-2 Super Bowl winning seasons and then started the year 5-5. The reason that happend is because of personnel decisions (Beisel, Starks, C.Brown) and injuries (Bruschi, Harrison).

I think the gloom and doom attitude comes from the fact that there is nowhere to go but down after a 16-0 season.

The bright side is that this team can sleepwalk to a division title much like the 2005 team did. Of course, I don't think they will need to. Belicheck and Pioli will be able to get a team together that will be 12-4.

They actually got to 6-4 before that melt-down against the Chiefs. I thought they had turned it around but, no went out and wet the bed at arrowhead.
All the teams after that were cannon fodder anyway.

No, I just think they have short memories. They think what the Pats did last offseason happens all the time and is the only path to success.

I love this team and put a lot of energy into them.

It's great that they've won 3 superbowls, and even when they don't, it's still nice to see successfull seasons.

but in a sick way i kinda look forward to them sucking again so i don't have to hear people complain about the team going 18-1 or listen to all the crap about how we can't win the superbowl every year.

then all the losers who don't really care about this team will just go away and we can talk about how much we suck and how fun it is.

Well put....

I agree with everything you said. However, these threads are almost as annoying in my opinion. Just ignore the clowns. No need to feed their egos with new threads.

Yeah, there's been about 10 "Guys, stop!" threads since free agency has started as well. You're trying to fight off complaining threads, with more complaining threads? Nice.

People aren't going to change their views, everyone's not going to be on the same page. This is an internet message board, not the ya-ya sisterhood.

I am frankly surprised by some of the posts (not in this thread) that seem to treat our FO and BB like as if they have lost every season.

Yeah, given the negative media that we have been facing since the eve of SB, it is a bit disconcerting not to read/hear about any good signing (other than Bruschi, which also didn't exactly cheer many I think).

But is this cause for despair leading some to doubt the guys running the Pats?

No way.

We average fans have very little knowledge of the happenings. So, instead of speculating endlessly and writing the Pats off, why not take a deep breath and see how everything plays out?

Coming off the most disappointing loss in sports history.

That's an open argument. If you want to say the most disappointing loss in Patriots history, I'll grant you that, but I'm not even sure it's the biggest disappointment in Boston sports history, let alone all of sports.

Yes, I already know what other events you’re thinking of.

But immortality and perfection were not on the line.

Championships were lost, something that is obtained by one team every year.

Perfection – is not.

In light of how the season ended I think it is at least fair to question the team. I know I was disappointed how the season ended. The one loss obviously came at the most disastrous of times. I know the Pats are still a top team but for them to lose that Super Bowl..well I guess that's been discussed enough.
