If Pats lose Moss, should they take McFadden?

Although I like Gholston and Ellis, I'd consider McFadden if Moss left, just to have the home run threat weapon. Although he would not give them the deep threat like Moss at WR (maybe CJ will emerge - not holding breath), they could move McFadden around, do some different things with him and we could run him and Maroney all day...

I want no part of McFadden, his contract, or his kids, regardless of whether or not they sign Moss.

Sure he'll ask for a big contract, but his kids will have nothing to do with his play on the field.

The Pats have Maroney and Morris two guys who can effectively run the ball. What do we need McFadden for? I prefer Mendenhall as a running back. The 7th pick will have to be someone BB/Pioli deem as a sure starter, either a linebacker, cornerback, DE/LB or offensive line.

If they lose Moss, why would they focus on the running game?

seeing the pats go shotty on 3rd and short made me uneasy, i'd have no problem with strengthening our running game if we lose moss.

i'm also sketchy about maroney on all 4 downs, and im not sure sammy morris is as good as he was when he went down.

i'd love mcfadden or another running back, but what good is running down the clock if our defense can't keep the other guys out of our end zone?

If we wanted another running back, I'd rather wait until the second round and grab Chris Johnson. This kid is fast enough to stretch the field like Moss as a wide receiver when not at the running back position.

McFadden is an over-rated player.. Why would you want to consider ANOTHER 1st round RB? Makes no sense.

The knock on mc fadden are

1)He goes down way too easy on first contact
2)Very skinny legs and not powerfull enough

i do think you get a light weight 7th rounder when LT,parker, grant, jacobs and 99% of all effective RB are not top 10 picks in NFL.can you name a top 10 pick who is even a dominant RB over years. Before AD i do not even remember 1 guy.

Because Welker + Gaffney is ummm a crappy 1+2 for a receiving corps. At that point, you might as well get the best RB and change your philosophy to smash mouth football.

Ladanian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson.

I don't see a Moss-McFadden connection.

They'll take the best player in an area of need.

In other words, if the best player is a QB, they'll pass. Otherwise, best player.
