Do NOT lose faith Patriots Nation

Whether they sign Moss or Not...this is how the FO has operated every year since BB/Pioli have been here.
Last year was an exception.

the sting of the SB loss may have made them rethink going back to what has worked for them in the past.

Building depth and staying away from back breaking non QB contracts.

I would like to see Moss back...but I think it would have been done by now.
10 million dollars for a wide receiver?

They have a big contracts coming up next year in Wilfork.
they may just NOT be able to sign Moss for big bucks now and keep their star DL's next year

Prior to this year would you EVER think the Patriots ould consider paying 10 million a year for a WR?

I still think these guys know what they are doing.

Ty Warren is signed through 2013. Moss will be back.

Whether we sign Moss or not really isnt the problem, but if we arent why not use the money to try and resign Asante? or Pace? too late for the both of them now, theres nobody out there left that could really have an impact on this team next year which really sucks..

Re: Do NOT lose faith Patriots Nation

I agree. I just hope Brady sees it that way, and I'm sure sooner or later he will.

$10 million for a 23 td WR who played for peanuts this year

I agree, Moss definitely deserves it, he played for 3 million base salary this year.

I know they could have signed Asante, but if they are not willing to pay 10 million a year for a WR like moss. I don't see them wanting to sign Asante to a Nate Clements type deal.

Re: Do NOT lose faith Patriots Nation

I have not lost faith

Re: Do NOT lose faith Patriots Nation

I hope Moss stays, but to be quite honest....if he leaves, the Pats will continue to compete for championships and Moss will regret the day he left.

Let's be honest.

The offense: Moss will be back. Maroney blossomed into his own and Morris is coming back. This will be a very good offense plus Dave Thomas comes back and we get some production out of him. Hopefully this is CJ's big year and he comes into his own and get 30 catches. I think year four will be his better year. He might never be a stellar player but at this point we need some production.

The defense:

The d-line all comes back.

The secondary has 3 out of 4 starters coming back with a promising rookie and a big question mark of production in Richardson.

The linebackers: We had 3 starters coming back. We just need a 4 starter and add some depth at the minimum. It all really depends on who they bring in how good they will be.

How many holes does the team really have? Only two: a corner and linebacker.

What do we ideally want to see? A starting corner with depth behind him.

A stud linebacker who can pass rush and be groomed into drop into coverage while setting the edge in the run game. A mlb who can legitimately blitz and play the pass would be nice too. But we all have our wish lists.

But let's be real. the team has 4 picks in the first three rounds and is always known to maneuver. they'll be fine and will contend. no need to panic at the start of free agency. if it's the summer and things are this way then i'll give you that.

Re: Do NOT lose faith Patriots Nation

I learned after they dumped Miloy and I was screaming about it, that they are to be trusted

Let's be honest indeed. Sure we will be fine and contend. That's not our goal. That's the goal of Miami. You're counting on our top 4 draft choices?

I trust to fill at least two of this six holes within a week.

As of right now, we need
#1 corner
#3 corner (a nickel back plays a lot)
#3 LB (bruschi is our #5)
#4 LB
#1 WR
#2 WR

what a chicken little. moss will be back. gaffney will be #2. we'll find a stop gap measure for cb and #1 will be an OLB.

we will contend for a SB.

Moss *was* the Pats offense last year. Everything else developed to take advantage of the overcompensation the opposing D had to make to take away Moss. In my book that makes him worth about $1 less than Brady. And last time I checked Gaffney was not signed.

With no Moss "WE" may contend for a SB next season but I doubt "WE" even get to the AFC championship game.

Do you mean fine, as in winning the division. Anyone can win the AFCE if you have a pulse and 2 legs.

i agree. i think BB and pioli have proved they know what they are doing. bye bye randy.

I'm just stating where we are now. We're six players to break even with last year's team. We need to replace or re-sign Moss, Gaffney, Samuel, Gay, Colvin and Seau. To be better, we need to do more.

A stop back at cb, Richardson at nickel, and a draftee aren't enough. And there is nothing but your guess to believe that both Moss and Gaffney will be back.

I'm no chicken little. I think that we'll do fine. We just ahve a long way to go.
