The Jets have entered the pursuit for free agent DB Randall Gay.

What took so long? Gay has played in the defensive scheme that the Jets run since entering the league. He's meeting the the Saints on Saturday.

FWIW, I'm rather OK with Randall going. Too much time injured. IR'ed twice. UDFA only because he was injured in college. What are the odds this guy will finish his career without more time missed? BB/Peoli are making the right call on this one.

I will be very glad to see Gay getting schooled in another uniform. He was deeked out of his shoes countless times in the playoffs and seemed to be 2-3 steps away from the receiver on most plays. If he's on the Jets side of the ball this fall, I foresee Welker and others torching him often. Good riddance to him and Samuel.

I'm pretty okay with Gay going away. It seems like the FA class this year is pretty weak. I don't want to be too negative but I'm not wishing the best to Asante and Gay....and I really don't think the Eagles will be thinking the $$$ they gave to A$ante was worth it. Big splash in a little pond. Now...if only that big name WR would just sign with the Pats already!
