Clayton: Moss not close to deal, entertaining other offers

He's saying that Randy Moss and the Patriots are actually not close to a deal, and Randy's starting to listen to offers from other teams....

The OP had it right. Just heard it on ESPN myself. Clayton was on anout five minutes ago.

Thats a ******* joke if Moss leaves, what a kick in the sack. I'm starting to lose a lot of faith. No deal, and I doubt they're close, what the **** would be the hold up? If they lose Moss expectations go wayyyy down. Suddenly that return to the super bowl looks anything but easy.

Yeah..this is the first time its been confirmed that he's beginning to consider other teams. Up until now, no one knew anything because nothing was going on with the Pats but at the same time Moss agent wasn't talking to other teams either, so people were just speculating and, as a result, the reports were all over the place.

Exactly, No Moss signed, no Stallworth signed, no Gaffney Signed, wtf didnt they learn there lessons when we lost Branch and Givens the same year?

My optimism is gone. They've had longer then other teams to work something out, but they can't. **** Moss because if money is such an issue theres really nothing the Patriots can do. It sucks, for one season the guy wants to win football games now he wants the paper. This offseason is gonna be a disaster if they lose Moss.

if he goes, he goes, it will show his true charcter, the one year good boy will be proven wrong , if he wants to stay with the pats great ,brady has supported him, bb has supported him, kraft has supported him, so if he is going to take the last buck it shows he probably would of been a mal content back to his old form hes only one player, and we havent won a super bowl with him plus he chocked in the playoffs, do i want him hell yes but if he flips the bird to us ill flip ill flip it back and then watch him struggle

Until we know what the Pats offered, we don't know that. If their offer is say, 3/18 with a 10 mill bonus, then we cant blame him at all for leaving. This isnt Deion Branch.

I'll say again, you guys are being unfair to Moss in assuming that he's asking for too much as opposed to being lowballed by the Pats. We don't what the Pats offered, if this falls through, reserve judgement until we get those numbers.
