Not bad

We have just completed the first day of free agency. We have added eight players in the last 24 hours. Some of our players are out looking. We're waiting for resolution on Gaffney and Moss. I am hoping for Moss and Gaffney to be signed, and then we can focus on free agents from other teams.

Bruschi
Paxton
Washington
Wright
Woods
Alexander
Britt
Ventrone

and none of them have made our team better because its the same players we had last year. pointless thread

Those "same players" went 18-1! :D
I see what your saying though

I'll take the glass half full approach.

None of the signings made our team worse.. There is strength in stability.....

Outside of Bruschi and Washington as a special teams player, what the **** did they do? I dont care if they don't go crazy every year, but why the hell is Moss not ******* signed? Argh.

This may also explain why there has been no news on
Randy. The FO has been busy with the other signings.
I'm not reaching. Am I?:D

The team that started free agency was not last year's team. I will wait to compare this year's team to last year's team under at least after the draft. Needs were filled today.

Would you say that if we were to sign a corner equal in quality to Samuel, would that also not matter, since the team from last year wasn't made any better? Of course not.

To me, re-signing our own free agents is much, much more important than signing the speculative free agents of other teams, or drafting speculative college players.

These are my thoughts, also, but you say it so much more eloquently than I could, so let me add, "Ditto!"

You might want to start watching the kick-offs and punts. You might see what guys like Woods and Alexander bring to the table. Woods, for your information was the teams leading special teams tackler last year. Alexander was, I believe 3rd.

i dont really think there are many free agents(not including ours) out there that the pats are interested in, if there were we would know.

Not to mention that they are sure to figure into our linebacker rotation more next year!

Did the Pats impact their roster with these signings? Hardly. Thats what I'm saying.

Needs were filled? We have a LB set? We have our DB situation set? It's the first day, nothing has been done yet. I'm glad not everyone is pesimistic, that doesn't mean the homers should come out pimping up re-signing of nobodies.

My guess is that your definition of 'nobodies' differs from others who don't take as dim a view of special teams and depth as you seemed to in your post.

We didn't add these players, they were already here.

They are players who came cheap. To re-sign Gaffney and Moss

will require some bonus money.

I dont know why no one has pointed this out....these all were signings that could have happened ANYTIME IN THE PAST MONTH. You dont take the first day of free agency to resign your own guys, you do that on your time beforehand. Sounds like the FO was slipping, but it also could be like the injury list.....not published correctly or timely to throw off the other teams. BB is always trying to get an edge....

Last year due to the new cba we came across some money also a player like AD was on the market due to a no cap in baltimore.

this year we are back to the old cba increase 6% so comparing to last year where we had a 15% cap hike is unfair.also their is no AD in the FA.

what we need is some rookie in the DB,LB in defence and a WR,OL help.

So you don't believe in BB's philosophy of 53 players I guess. Its a miracle that these people follow this team for this long and still don't know what its about.

Yet again, lets let the professionals decide what is best for the franchise, not idiot armchair qbs.
