A great move by Parcells IMO - I think Josh has what it takes to finally overcome the ghost of Dan Marino and the QB jinx in Miami,I think he fits well for the Doophins.

The Dolphins are making the right moves and needed the brains of Parcells to get it done - If all guys selected today, officially sign and play for this team Miami could push to 7-9 or 8-8 next season.

McCown is a journeyman with a (slightly) negative TD-INT ratio in his career. I don't think he will be a successful solution for Parcells.

How exactly?

Anything can happen over the course of the season, but his is doubtful. That being said, we knew this was the approach Parcells would take with this team: sign free agents who can change the look of your team.

Parcells as usual always has his teams in contention for a championship on an average of 2-3 years from the time he takes over even though this is a GM job,I think he has started off well - But I HATE Miami and they are an AFC East team so this hurts just a bit.

Lets not crown Josh McCown as the next Johnny Unitas just yet.

Yes of course the Dolphins will be better next year.

Parcells really knows when to time his moves...when there is plenty of cap space and lots of high draft picks...

Why McCown is a backup at best, if this is the guy they are counting on for this upcomming season, they are looking great for next years number one pick also.

Wrong. phins will win at least six games this year. Lets hope we are not one of the six.

It seems more likely that McCown is a replacement for Cleo Lemon. The Qb roster is the woozy Trent green, journeyman Josh McCown and old man Beck. A truly intimidating trio.

Didn't Green retire?

Kind of hard to get any worse.

Well McCown is no Marino but didn't journeymen QBs like AJ Feeley and Boller play well up against the Patriots secondary last year?

I think McCown is one of those Journeymen QBs that could make it tough to figure him out like the 2 mentioned above.

well, considering how they did last year....its arguable they can only go up...

Parcells will probably beef up the team before he goes for a top QB. He'll probably take a flyer on a few lower round QB's in the draft and then if he doesn't get lucky he grabs a high rounder next year.

Bahahahaha, Josh McCown!
