Sorry, no link, this is from an "Insider Chat" :

"I was told "a handful" of teams contacted his agent. We know one was the Patriots, not certain of the others."

Who is the source in the chat?

I guess he'll go on a recruiting tour. But I can't see the Pats matching that money if in fact he wants 20 mil guaranteed.

EDIT - read that wrong

Excellent.

Word is that Jason Taylor is going to go ballistic if they bring in Pace at the projected numbers being thrown to him by the Tuna.

Jason always has a spot in our defense if he gets too angry.

They're saying the Pace is very close to signing with someone (didn't say who) and Cleveland is talking seriously with Stallworth.

If it worked out like that, Pace to the Dolphins and Taylor to the Patriots works for me :) :rocker:

Me too.

He's naturally an OLB unlike Taylor, and he's younger I believe.
Certainly Pace is younger - and I would prefer him too; but right now we have neither so I would settle for second place.

Now that is true. Especially if, in that situation, Pace goes to a division rival. Then it makes sense to fill a hole and get Taylor away from Miami.

I don't know how I'd feel with a LB corps with an average age of 67 :)

Pioli: "Hi, this is Scott Pioli."

Pace's Agent: "Hi Scott, what can I do for you?"

SP: "What range are you in for Calvin Pace."

PA: "We're thinking 5 years, $8 million per, $15 signing bonus."

SP: "That's interesting. Oh, my videotape editor is calling me. I'll get back to you. Real soon."

If the Dolphins were to sign Calvin Pace then I believe the chances of either Chris Long or Vernon Gholston being available for NE's pick will increase. Some of the other free agent OLB's and DE's could be landing on teams that were threats to select either player, as well.

Were the dolphins a serious threat to take Gholston? Either way, the Jets will most likely grab him at 6.

you'd feel the way you feel about EVERYTHING the Patriots do...the glass is empty and the sky is falling

Your incomprehensible prose notwithstanding, that's completely and entirely false. I'd ask for some evidence of your claim but I'll spare you the trouble and embarrassment.

****, i would like to know more updates but the NFL is a wacky *****.
