ESPN's John Clayton that there is a "growing chance" the Patriots will sign Randy Moss.

Clayton thinks New England will give Moss $10 million a season. All signs indicate Moss should stay, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Re: Moss to sign with Pats (Clayton)

At last, a good news.

Re: most recent news regarding moss.

Jerry Porter signed for $5 million a year.

That's got to take a little sheen off Randy Moss's big contract.

Is Moss worth Jerry Porter's?

I know Porter has personality issues, but that was Moss's rap as well. Moss + Gaffney or Porter + Porter? I'd take Moss but at least there's an argument to make there.

Re: most recent news regarding moss.

Finally some kind of positive news to replace all the dread that has been creeping in all morning.

Re: most recent news regarding moss.

I just heard this on espn. Clayton basically said that the Pats will probably be offering him the $30 mil/3 years contract...and it is expected to be done sooner than later. He sounded pretty convinced. good news.

Re: Moss to sign with Pats (Clayton)

Saying there is a growing chance is different than "Moss to sign with Pats".

Positive news, though.

Re: most recent news regarding moss.

"Growing Chance"???? Perhpas he's talking about his hair.

What gave it away, when Randy sat in front of the world in Phoenix and said he wanted to stay a Patriot and Retire a Patriot? Or Perhaps is started growing when The HOF Quarterback Mr. Tom Brady said "Randy and I are a package deal", or perhaps when we showed good faith and did not slap the franchise tag on him - I mean I can keep going with this all day.

Randy is and will be a Patriot.

Clayton is an idiot.

Re: Moss to sign with Pats (Clayton)

 How enlightening.
Come on Clayton give me more than that. :D

Re: Moss to sign with Pats (Clayton)

growing chance and moss to sign are to different things

Didn't we know this from a member of the board like...2 days ago?

To translate from Clayton speak, jeezus, he isn't visiting anywhere and his agent is not returning mediot calls like a guy trying to shop his client and the JAGS signed Porter, so...

Re: Moss "Growing Chance" he signs with Pats (Clayton)

I think in other words, people aren't offering Moss the ground breaking deals he thought he might get offered and will re-resign with the Pats even if it is for a little less.

My take is that all these rumors of teams like Dallas, Philly, Jacksonville, etc. being very interested in giving Moss a blow away offer probably made him want to test the free agent market. Problem for him is that probably most of these teams either weren't as interested as rumored or already allocated money elsewhere thinking Moss would never leave the Patriots. Also, I still think that many teams feel the Randy Moss of the Oakland Raiders and late Viking years will return if he is in the wrong environment.

Even if Moss got a crazy deal elsewhere I don't think he would have neccessarily left, but hoped a big deal would drive up the Pats' offer. My guess is that none of these crazy offers are coming.

Just speculation on my part though.

Agreed on both counts. Let's please try to be more disciplined with THREAD TITLES. Thanks.

Adam Schefter has already reported that the deal is moving toward completion. His info is always superior to lil' Cryptkeeper.

My guess is that lil CK is trying to keep up.

the media always throws these arrows in the dark so that someone will say something stupid or controversial and they can create news. unfortunately neither the pats or moss or his agent have bitten .So last nite clayton reports moss and pats are far apart. today he says its moving towards completion.

Re: Moss "Growing Chance" he signs with Pats (Clayton)

The light is dawning for Clayton. Perhaps he understands that the fact that Moss's agent isn't out there making noises with other organizations might, just might mean that Moss is still in the Pats camp! Clayton is such a joke!

Re: Moss "Growing Chance" he signs with Pats (Clayton)

I say Randy never had any intention of leaving the Pats. That he wasn't franchised because the Pats knew he was coming back. He would be crazy to leave. That the stuff going on know is ust technical points of ironing out a contract.

Re: Moss "Growing Chance" he signs with Pats (Clayton)

Now here's the big question, do they give Randy a 3 or a 4 year deal?
