Wip in philly once the Samual deal is done, and by all accounts it is. They will try to trade Sheppard to Arizona for Fritzgerald.. That means lots of Jag CB's for us this season...

What means Jag?

I refuse to believe a Fitzgerald for Sheppard trade. That would be just nuts on Arizona's part.

it was reported by Howard Eskin, aka Mini Reid in Philly

What happens to all of Fitsgerals's large bonuses etc..what was bringing the Cardinals down??? Just curious...

Re: Rumor of a Lito for Fritzgerald trade in works..

He's due 31 million dollars over the next 2 years, so as good as Fitz is I'd be trying to unload that deal as well.

Journey man aka shoe makers..

Cason, Rodgers-Cromartie, McKelvin, Flowers, Talib, Jenkins, Chevis Jackson, and others are all "JAGS"?

There is something called the NFL Draft, and this years class just happens to be loaded at CB. Frankly, the Patriots are smart not to shell out a bunch of cash for some of these overrated CB's (Asante, Gay), as I believe a few of the rookies above could develop into better CB's.

What kind of cap hit would AZ have to take? Fitzgerald is making $14.6m this coming year.

And what happens to that 31million if he is traded?? Does Phillie pick up the tab?? Or is it split?? Just curious as to takes the cap hit..or does it disappear??

Salary goes with the player to the new team. Old team is on the hook for Signing Bonus. Salary is not guarenteed so new team can re-structure easy.

The emphasis is on the word "try". I am trying to get my boss to double my salary too.

The Cards would be crazy to trade Sheppard for Fitzgerald straight up. I know he has a whopping cap hit, but the guy has had two 1,409 yard and 10 TDs seasons in the last three years. And the guy is only 24 to boot. If he was a free agent, he would easily be the #1 free agent on the market right now. I'll tell you right now that if he and Moss were both on the market right now that I would take Fitzgerald over Moss in a heartbeat (based on production, age, and upside).

I think the Eagles will have to throw in a second rounder or possibly their first in the deal to get it done. Personally, I think the Cards are crazy to trade Fitzgerald for less than a high first round value. The guy is an elite player.

Sheppard is a high second round value in my opinion due to his injury history. The guy has played a full 16 games season just once in his career (2003) and has missed 14 games over the last three years.

Ditto. That's ******ed.

The.Cardinals.will.not.trade.Fitzgerald.

That has been hammered into my head by numerous cardinals fans.

You turned off ESPN for 610? Do you like the torture:D

Get yourself a Sirius or log on to eei after 10.

No way they do this, and "the king" has a reputation of being wrong.

Re: Rumor of a Lito for Fritzgerald trade in works..

that would be nuts. i agree with the other posters. if i had to choose between moss, and fitzgerald,,,,,im taking the kid. the cards would be stupid to make this trade,,,,,,,,,oh wait. we're talkin about the cards:D
