Gaffney or Washington

I have a feelin that we're only going to be able to retain one of these two guys. I know Kelly was a great ST gunner and that he really didn't get a chance to play in the regular offense, but we knew he could have if needed. If it came down to only being able to retain one or the other, who would you want?

12:01 is approaching quickly, I won't sleep tonight.

I will take Gaffney....he seems to have a good thing going with Tom.

Why only one though neither will be that expensive?

i think both will be back hosntly.
they both said they want to stay with the pats, gaf is good with tom, and was is a great st player.

Look I want both, I just have a feeling some team is going to pry away one or the other. I mean think about it, if both of them sign with us, one of these two guys will more than likely end up as a 4th WR and the other a 5th if Moss signs and CJackson gets his big shot, I'm not sure each one doesn't feel they could be a #2 in another offense.

I'd be happy with either back.

I'd prefer Gaffney.

I'd predict both find more $ elsewhere and neither is back.

If we must choose, I'll take Gaffney because Brady already has a rapport with him, and Gaffney has a track record of coming up with some big catches in big games. Washignton is an unknown quantity in that regard.

No contest. Gaffney all the way.
Sure KW made some great contributions on STs.
But let's not forget that Gaffney competed with
a fairly prized FA and was playing pretty good himself, and
Jabbar was getting
more reps by the end of the season.
Plus, Gaff has saved our butts on occasion (think Baltimore).
A reliable guy, too.

They arent even close to the same player. One is a role player for ST the other is a role player at WR. WR gets on the field more, he will get more $$. Washington HAS NOT CAUGHT A BALL IN 2+ YEARS!! He is no longer a reciever, he was(in his finest hour)the 4th best reciever on the BUNGALS!! I want him back but for MINIMUM, we might be able to get a low rd draft pick to play ST....

Again I would like to see what Kelly Washington brings to the offense if given a chance... I do want both back..

I think both will be back, but....... my choice would be Washington. To say he is only a ST'er is a really ignorant statement. IMO, he's one of the best ST'ers we've had since Larry Wigham and perfectly capable of being a #4 WR.

Don't mean to minimize Kelley's contributions
But Jabbar has been so key for the Pats.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep both.

We know that Gaffney can start at WR. Washington is a top Ster. They play different positions. Is Andrews coming back? If not, I would say Washington is a lock.

Yeah, we only got $23 million in cap room. we could never afford both of them
