Olivea is to be cut today by SD - He has been a decent draft pick in 2006 by the Chargers and now he may be available.

Any interest to sign up Olivea and maybe cut Kaczur or give him some serious challenge at RT?

That is surprising. Is it injury related? Didn't he make the probowl last year? He's young and would be an instant upgrade on the right side for sure.

Have not heard any injury realted issues,Maybe a cap casualty but I don't know where SD stands on the cap but with all thier talent I can see thier cap number high so somebody decent has to go.

Actually, (I dont have the link) but if I remember accurately, I read that S.D. is one of the best teams in the league right now with cap space available. It surprised the hell outta me cuz they have alot of great players. Guess it just goes to show what solid drafting, and good personnel moves can do for a team.

Wow that's quick. 2004 7th round draft pick to 2008 cap casualty.

John Hannah would give Kaczur a challenge at this point.

Bring him in!

No, not injury related. He lost his starting job to Clary. No need to keep a 2.5 million a year backup. I think the dude is surprised to be out on the street. He asked for his release so he could go to another team, the Chargers said ok.

Quelle surprise!

Actually, not too much of a surprise. He was the weakest link on the Chargers line. Olivea struggles with pass blocking so he would obviously not be a fit for the Pats. And to answer the question someone asked earlier, no, he has never even sniffed a pro bowl.
