This is a perfect example.

It is a well known fact that the best man at taping nfl signals in the world is on His own damn team, and he still makes these jokes.

He thinks he's untouchable and knows damn well that his own team tapes/taped signals, but he'll take cheap shots at the pats for it. Casual football fans and everyone that watches espn won't know any better.

This along with the fact that he thinks he can compare himself to MLK and Rosa Parks irritates the hell out of me. He should be ashamed of himself for trying to put himself in the same sentence as them. he's a rich nfl coach that never had to go through the things that they did.

That about sums it up.

Why should he be?

This is just my opinion--but when someone (like Dungy) makes himself a model of...whatever it is Dungy (and Peter King) think he's a model of, when things happen that provide evidence that what he's crafted himself as just isn't true--he deserves what happens.

I wouldn't make jokes about him and his situation if he didn't put himself out there.

Again--just my opinion. And apparently I'm not nearly as nice or forgiving as some people here.

Haha, well it's just strange to me that a "well-known fact" seems to only be "well-known" among Pats fans. And please don't use the "everyone in the NFL knows it," because that's just foolish.

It's amusing how the only vitriol I can find against Dungy comes from NE fans. Why is that? Everywhere else people think he's a great guy and a solid coach. Just because he jokes about spygate? Seriously, people. Get a life and get over yourselves. You don't have to take every spygate comment personally.

BTW, it seems to me that the comment I was originally quoting, which says "He is a hypocrite!" would qualify as slander without proof. I doubt anyone on here could bring me anything that qualifies as proof. And no, pft.com rumors don't count.

Attempts at ad hominem arguments when you know absolutely nothing about me are pretty entertaining. Maybe I appreciate logical arguments (on second thought, maybe I shouldn't come here then). After all, how can someone grow intellectually when all they do is talk to people they agree with all the time? I like to see other people's sides to things.

Let me just put this out with a broad brush, and leave it at that for you.....

Most team sites are frequented by a lot of quick-triggered homers, and you get a whole lot of vitriol aimed at anyone who dares question anything about their team. This one is not out of the ordinary when it comes to that.

Yes he is a hypocrite. When Spygate first broke, he was all over it with his "I'll give you more" statements about it, and going on and on about how he would be embarrassed if his organization and his owner would sink to such depths to win and how classy etc. they are. You mean you didn't have any law breakers on your team Tony? Really? Never while you were the coach? You better check yourself before you wreck yourself. He makes me sick. People don't question him because he is: a) openly religious which in the eyes of the media makes him saintly b) soft spoken c) kisses media booty and allows a lot of media access to his team. I would give you the deed to my house if he would have been treated the same way by the media as BB has been if his team was guilty of taping. Wouldn't happen.

Methinks there are many many people in NFL circles who can't stand Tony Dungy and his holier than thou act. Methinks more than a couple are in his own organization and lockerroom. We know BB is the far better coach but it's also quite apparent that Bill is a much better parent to his children. St. Tony talks too much. Jesus would not approve.
