Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

He will be attending The Celtics game tonight.Headed to Foxboro tomorrow? We'll see.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

I think he still owns a pad in Boston..

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

A move to Saftey?? Why not.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

I'm all for Ty at safety!

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

Again, where is Law going to play for us at safety?

Second or third CB is much more likely.

Why would Law want to play for the Pats after they way they "disrespected" him in his last contract negotiation with the team?

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

don't we have enough safeties and are short on corners? no pun intended

I like Sanders and Rodney...what if we revamped our defense for speed and went with a 3 saftey zone. The Boston Globe did an article on it back in 2003 when we had Tebucky Jones, Victor Green, Lawyer, and had just added Rodney.
I can't recall the details, but they talked about starting with 3 safteties and using one to come into the box from time to time.

Victor Green was cut either during or after the 2002 season. He was terrible with the Pats. With no intention of keeping him, the Pats also traded Tebucky Jones after the 2002 season. Rodney Harrison was signed in '03 offseason and we all thought that Milloy and Harrison would start at safety. There wouldn't be a strong or free, but simply two safeties on the field. However, Milloy was cut a week before the '03 season started.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

what about drafting D.Cromartie for the #1 CB spot. Have Law take over Hobbs spot, and move Hobbs down to cover slot/#3 Wrs? That would be pretty good if Law has some left in the tank.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

You simply don't know what you're talking about.

Most Chiefs fans would probably disagree.

Though he might do better in our scheme.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

Can anyone figure out what Ty Law has made since leaving the Pats versus what he would have made had he been content to be "disrespected" by the Pats?

Thats a great question, and I bet the answer would be very interesting if someone can find it.

I have a real hard time expecting a rookie to start at corner, and an impossible time thinking that a rookie would put 2 year starter E Hobbs III on the bench. (Much less an aging Ty LAw)

Pats had Meriweather playing CB when Asante was holding out and hes a safety, you know how good a CB Cromartie is?

Hobbs is really getting picked on outside, id much rather have him in the slot. Im not sure how good Law would be though, maybe he would play better being back on the Pats but in KC he was not good, staying about 20 yards off WRs so he wont get burnt, making a ton of penalties. I wouldnt want him if hes gunna bring that here.

I crunched the numbers a while ago and through this season I believe he made $1M LESS between 2004-2007 than he would have made had he just agreed to the restructured deal the Patriots offered 4 years ago had he played here all 4 years. That's not counting relocation expenses and any RE losses in the present market. :D

He almost signed here 2 years ago, but made the silly choice to follow Herm the hugger, who has now kicked him to the curb. He had some issues beyond money that were tied to proving he was not a system player... Didn't really pan out. Maybe with his rings under assault he would be intrigued in returning to avenge that crap. Not sure how long Bill would wait for a decision though after Ty abused him by stringing him along into July last time in an effort to get about a half million more a year out of Peterson in KC.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

I wouldn't get worked up just yet, folks. For all we know, Ty's just here to hook up with his Ecstacy connection.

Re: Ty Law Is In Boston Tonight

this is honestly ridiculous. People think Hobbs should be a nickleback. i'd have him on my football team any day. and what about randall gay? talk about disrespect. the guy deserves a legit chance to start. as many have said... we can't expect a rookie to start. has everyone already forgotten duane starkes?

i'd go with Gay, maybe bring law in cheap(although i'm not a fan of it), and draft a corner in the 2nd or 3rd round.
