I think we knew it was coming but he's out there now. Kendrell Bell also, although he barely played last year - was he hurt ?

I'd love to see Ty back. Probably #4 on my list of all time favorite Pats.

With Ty's history here, the youth at DB coming in, and our need of a veteran presence in the secondary, I expect the Pats to make a run at TY.

omg kendrell bell he was a beast for pittsburgh get on the horn BB get on the horn and I frankly don't care what you say, yeah yeah he underperformed the last few years blazay blah.
If IF he can get back to the form that he was in Pitt he be definitely worth it.
Ty come back now and I can forgive you for your stint in green almost!

Look away Patriots. Look away.

Bell has done little since 2003 but he had 81 tackles in a 3-4 defense (similar to Capers' defense as it was Pittsburgh) and turns 30 this July. I wonder what he has left.

I always thought he was going to be a good one. But since going to KC, he's been a washed-up, injury prone player. Maybe he does need to come back to a team that runs a linebacker crew similar to Pittsburgh's.

Both players are marginal at this point, IMO. Just say no.

Again, I can't find full year stats for some reason, but football outsiders had success rate stats for DBs through 12 weeks. Law and Samuel had almost identical success rates.

I'd welcome Law back.

Yes Ty will always be a Patriot this here would just be a formality and who better to bring in to teach DRC i love this move so much.
It makes to much sense not to do it.
Plus i'm not giving up on Richardson.

As a situational cover 3 safety who rotates in for Sanders...I'd take Ty in a heartbeat provided his contract demands are within reason.

Ty Law is 34 years old. His interceptions dropped from 10 in 2004

to 2 in 2006. Anyone who thinks Ty will play for veteran's minimum

is wrong. Better the Pats draft a couple of young cornerbacks and

have Dom Capers tutor them.

The Chiefs do a lot of man-to-man where Law is more successful in a zone at this point in his career. He would be far more suited for the Pats' system than most. The question is whether he has gotten over his unrealistic salary demands? I could see him being a FS for us too. At worst he could be an one year stopgap at CB and then move to FS and have a Rod Woodson type of twightlight career.

As for Bell, his reputation has always been better than his play since his rookie season. But I would definitely take a pass at him for the veteran minimum.

His performance dropped in part because Edwards uses a Tampa 2 which requires him to do a lot of man to man coverage. At his age, he is better suited for a zone.

Give Ty an incentive-laden two-year deal, CB this year and move him to safety to play with Meriweather after we groom his replacement and Rodney retires in 09.......................Oh and give Ty his number back.

That would be like a leopard changing its spots, wouldn't it?

I'd love him back...reasonable money
