Hopefully, my perspective will be changed by events over the next few days. See belwo for my list. And BTW, none of this has anything to do with spying, tampering or the NFL offices.

Moss is rumored to be looking at other teams.
Gaffney was not extended.
Washington was not restructured and extended.
Faulk was arrested.
Andrews was arrested.
Bruschi is rumored to be retiring.
Colvin was cut.
Lua was cut.
Samuel is almost assuredly gone.
Gay was not extended.
Wilson was not extended.

Did I miss anything?

Was there any good news on the player front? BTW, I expect Seau to be back after playing in the sun until the beginning of August.

No low point for me until I see what happens with the $21M. If your list remains intact and nothing much is added, that will be the low point for me. I don't care much right now as I assume we'll spend the money well and wisely.

One last thing: Chris Long rocked the combine and he will be gone 5 picks before the NEPs get their pick to the podium.

The 10 minutes directly after we lost the SB were far worse for me.

IMO, this is a bit overwrought.

Moss is rumored to be looking at other teams -- most recent rumor suggests a signing is near.

Gaffney was not extended. -- working on a new contract with the team

Washington was not restructured and extended. -- will probably be back

Faulk was arrested. -- not really a big deal, from my perspective, on both accounts
Andrews was arrested.

Bruschi is rumored to be retiring. -- good

Colvin was cut. -- definitely a shocker

Lua was cut. -- not a huge surprise

Samuel is almost assuredly gone. -- knew this was going to happen for a while now

Gay was not extended. -- will probably be back

Wilson was not extended. -- see Samuel

The hiring of Dom Capers was a positive.

Unless his hiring was something done just in case Belichick is suspended on Spygate nonsense... Which prob is not , but the way this month has gone you never know..

In Bill I trust ... whatever the team is in the fall is the team I'll root for. I'm not worried and it's for 1 huge reason. None of us here knows the direction the team is going in. How Bill views this team into the future only he knows right now. Other than Samuel ... nothing on the list of the thread is of any concern. Samuel's loss will impact the team .. possibly. All the rest of the names on that list are players who we have come to know but who can be replaced. Brushci retiring is an emotional loss but the sign of an era ended ... football related it's a good move.

BTW ... Could Bill be creating cap room to move UP IN THE DRAFT???
Now that would crate a buzz around here ... having Howie's son a Patriot.
Surely would take care of a MAJOR PROBLEM in 2007 .. sacking QB's.

Will there be a team next year? I'm starting to wonder.

Free agncy has not started yet, so there is no need to panic.. However, its been a ominous offseason so far.. Put it this way , this cant be a succseful offseason for example of losing players like

Moss
Colvin
Samual
Bruschi
Stallworth

And replace them with say
Marty Booker
Brian Kelly

Then its time to break the glass..

But now, its not going good but fri is still 2 days away

Pretty sure Faulk was just cited ...

Nice to see someone even more panicy than me. Didn't think it was possible. ;)

We go through this every year...... RELAX!!!

None of that stuff bothers me much.

I still can't get over the biggest choke job in the history of the NFL in the SuperBowl. Now, that hurts. Every time. To get to 18-0 and throw it all away, unable to score more than 14 points with that offense. Ouch.

Colvin was cut.

I'm still in shock about the Colvin cut and I have a hard time making sense given what little we know at this point that the Pats simply chose to cut the guy while taking a $1.8m dead money hit. There's a serious hole in the heart of the defense.

Also, though I see these as merely formalities a this point, they still need to tender Alexander and Woods.

On the bright side, Haggans is available and I also think Pioli and Belichick have some vets in mind whom they've targeted as probable cut candidates at the LB position. But then, the Pats can always choose to reunite Dom Capers with Chad Brown.

Branch, Givens, Vinatieri and McGinest all left once. The Pats made the AFC CC and the SB in the next two years, and replaced them with Moss, Stallworth, Welker and Thomas.

I can't wait to see the D get an overhaul like the O got last year. :D

I misread your name as "EnglishPatient".

we lost ty law and he was a lot better then samuel gay is not that good any way we where 18 and 0 and and we have the 7th pick in the draft we will be ok

There has to be a plan in all of this,

Colvin too much of a cap hit.. could be back, there were some issues with him shedding blocks..
Moss.. really believe he will be back
Bruschi.. needs to move on, as much as we all care about him
Washington.. will be back
Samuel... too rich for our blood, we will be having conversations about a system CB soon.
Lua.. hardly knew ye
Wilson.. did not play all that much
Gay.. will be back.
Faulk.. not that big a deal..

Stay tuned, we will be ok and our D will look different next year.. in our close games our LB crew was tested too much, and even though they held their ground for the most part there is a need for an upgrade..
