Ridiculously fast for some -- slower than expected for others. No doubt these are unofficial.

Connecticut cornerback Tyvon Branch recorded the fastest 40 this morning at 4.24.
Noteworthy:

Code:
Antoine Cason - [B]4.49 (I told ya'll he looked like a 4.47 guy) [/B]

Brandon Flowers - 4.54 (was [U]hoping[/U] he'd time better)

Charles Godfrey - 4.45 ([U]thought[/U] he was faster)

Marcus Griffin - [B]4.76 (ouch)[/B]

Chevis Jackson - 4.58

Mike Jenkins [B]4.28 (he's still #1 on a lot of boards)
[/B]
Leodis McKelvin 4.35.

The speedy updates are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Adams and Decoud and a few other SS putting up nice times in the 4.52-4.56 range.

Any time on Cromartie yet? Wow Jenkins lit it up, I'm surprised.

Waiting for Talib's 40. He just posted a 38" vertical (3rd best at the Combine so far). I'm still expecting a DB to hit 40" -- we'll see...

My horse is Porter.

Just watched live-

K Phillips - 4.55 - 4.54

Porter - 4.45 - 4.49

DRC - 4.28 - 4.34

Talib - 4.48

T Thomas - 4.49

Tribble - 4.59

Those were first runs and unofficial.

4.28 for Cromartie: sick. He was my favorite CB coming into the combine, and he's definitely still #1.

edit: Beat to it.

Hmm...some blistering times there, now I don't know what the hell I want to happen come April...it would be lovely if we could trade down as much as possible and catch one of these guys...but Groves & Gholston are so appealing at #7.

F**K Goodell for stealing our other #1 which we could've used to trade up or down as well

4.59 for Tribble? So he's now short and slow? I thought he was overrated, but Hell...he might not get drafted now.

Jack Williams - 4.55

Trae Williams - 4.53

DJ Wolfe - 4.65

T Zbikowski - 4.52

Those were first runs and unofficial.

DRC, that's my boy, that's who I want in Patriot blue......................

Vertical

Leodis McKelvin just posted a 33.5" V. He's got great feet and is certainly fast enough, but that's a below average number for a highly rated CB. Not much explosiveness there.

Any word on Cromartie's vertical?

Rodgers-Cromartie

But I won't be surprised if his vertical matches his 40 --maybe top 2 among all DBs.

Make that first among all DBs -- 38.5" Vertical

I believe this is also second best among all positions -- best being 39".

Aqib Talib did not look good in the one drill where they backpedle then swing their hips to both sides and explode down the field. Sloppy. They showed some film on him after that pointing out some of his weaknesses, doesn't look like he's fast enough...

I don't know about you, but I'm happy to know Cason ran that time. Going in we had both said he didn't look slow to us, and you said he was a 4.47 guy, while I said he's anywhere from 4.45-4.5. That's a good time for him when you consider I believe he plays faster than he times.

Cason and Rodgers-Cromartie are getting close to sealing their placement on my list as the top two CB's for NE in this draft class. Both are tall for CB's, Cason is also strong (20 reps), and they've both got outstanding ball hawking ability & ball skills.

TY very much. I am not in the least bit surprised. This kid is an athletic freak. I've been harping on Rodgers-Cromartie for a while now, you guys have seen my prior posts. He's the #1 corner in my eyes. After his dominating Senior Bowl and now this jaw-dropping combine. This kid is a top 14 pick. Now the question is how far can we afford to trade down and still have him available.
